Only cost 2,000 guineas as a yearling and looks of little account at this stage having been seen four times (pulled-up twice). Hard to see him getting involved in this on his second AW run, well behind on first.

Split a couple of useful Godolphin runners on his debut at Newmarket (7f, good/firm) in a field of newcomers; unfancied in the market (25-1). Form as yet to be tested but shaped well enough to think he can be a leading player in this.

Made his debut over 1m but as some speed in his pedigree so no surprise to see him back at 7f stepping onto the AW for the first time. Only finished fourth of five on debut (not beaten far); should improve as most do from this yard.

50/1
Newcomer from a yard with a modest record with debutants this year (2-25); 52,000 guinea yearling, half-brother to three winners. Those include smart winner up to 1m Rusumaat (2yo 6f winner), useful 6f winner Tadbir; one to watch in the market.

Green on debut his inexperience not allowing him to show much (carried head awkwardly) at all over 1m here. Now steps back in trip to 7f; bred more for stamina (by Authorized) more than speed; still on a learning curve.

Beaten favourite all three starts (last two at odds-on) he's proved expensive to follow. Failed to show the benefit of his experience last time (running for the third time over 7f; Sandown); still running to a useful level though; could make amends.

Newcomer (yard 0-9 with debutants this year); cost €8,000 foal. Half-brother to 2yo 7f winner (stayed 2m) What A Party and 2yo 6f winner Karanogay, dam unraced. Looks one for the longer term, better for experience, wide draw doesn't help.

Appeared all at sea on his debut (40-1) finishing last of seven (slow away, always behind) over 6f at Newbury. Upped to 1m last time at Windsor the result wasn't much better, never involved, finished well held; of little appeal.

Just the third 2yo runner of the season for the yard, 50,000 guineas yearling. Dam, useful French 1m-1m1f winner, half-sister to smart 1m2f winner Shamkiyr. Given the modus operandi of the yard best watched on debut.

Riot (5/6), Hot Summer (2/1), Jean Baptiste (5/1), Turn On The Charm (12/1), Beauty Choice (14/1), Son Of Red (33/1), Karibana (50/1), Opine (66/1), Tigerten (100/1), Dark Moonlight (100/1), Austin Taetious (200/1)

18:40 Kempton - 6 September 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Second now on three occasions this offers a good chance for Riot to finally go one better having shown a good level of form despite those three 7f Sandown defeats; there appears to be little wrong with his attitude. However, he might just have run into another progressive sort in HOT SUMMER who impressed on his Newmarket debut despite running green and finding trouble and he’s taken to condemn Riot to another defeat. Jean Baptiste looks the pick of the others to have run but may need a little more time with Karibaba looking to be the pick of the newcomers he has a smart pedigree and it won’t be a surprise to see him perform well.
