Dandy Man gelding out of a Captain Rio mare. Well beaten and never nearer in three career efforts including when suffering a heavy defeat at the Galway festival last month. Not in the form required to play a part.
Elzaam gelding out of a Royal Acaemy mare. Vast improvement from first start to second when outrunning odds of 50/1 finishing a close up second of 15 at Gowran Park last month. More needed but one to have on the shortlist.
Gelding by Sea The Moon out of a Galileo mare. Cost €1000,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to 7f - 1m1f winner Proud Sky, successful in Ireland and Hong Kong. Well held on debut beaten 31L at Tipperary when last seen in June.
Experienced five-race maiden without success in three Flat starts on turf. Well down the field on latest start over 1m4f at the Galway festival. Yard going through a bit of a sticky patch in the last 14 days.
Big step up in trip after faring disappointingly on handicap debut at the Curragh over 6f on good ground in July. Dropped 3lb for that effort by the handicapper, but more is required if he is to have a say.
Dubawi colt out of a 7f winning Dam. Half-brother to useful 7f winner Jassaar. Dwelt on debut before finishing 10th of 15 beaten over 18L at Leopardstown over 7f last month. No surprise to witness improvement.
Gelding by Zebedee. Half-brother to several winners, including useful 1m1f/1m¼f winner Euphrasia and two-year-old victor, Langavat. Last of 13 beaten 59L here over 1m2½f and unlikely to be troubling the judge.
Canford Cliffs colt. Well beaten and never nearer in a couple of below-par starts when last seen in November last year. Impossible to make a case for in this contest.
Career best effort when finishing second of 24 beaten a little over 2L in a Curragh 1m2f handicap last month. Can expected to make a bold bid in this company.
Well beaten in three career starts between August and September last year showing little or no aptitude on each occasion. Hard to see her making any significant impact.
Talented filly who has shaped well in a couple of starts last month. Repeat of efforts since debut in July should see her in the hunt for more prize money.
Forecasts
Takarengo (9/4), X' Girl (10/3), Formal Order (7/2), Mufarrej (7/1), Marwari (10/1), Ferrum (10/1), Border Battle (12/1), Vivalicious (20/1), Stay In (66/1), King Citric (100/1), Spirit Of Dawn (100/1)
The Johnny Murtagh-trained FORMAL ORDER is clearly better than his last run at the Galway festival in July and can win for the first time in six career starts. Takarengo, second of 24 at the Curragh last month in a career best effort can emerge as the biggest danger, while X' Girl, running well in defeat last month and the Dermot Weld pair of Marwari and Mufarrej are deserving of further consideration.
