What Will Be22
Age: 3|  Weight: 11-4| J: R Johnson| T: O Murphy
6/4
Fair Flat maiden who confirmed the promise he showed on debut when taking a Stratford juvenile hurdle (upheld form with several rivals). Found out under a penalty last time at Market Rasen; similar scenario this time around.
Best form on the Flat came as a juvenile but failed to progress in the sphere. Made some progress since going hurdling but debateable whether he's good enough to win one of these; may well be better off in handicaps down the line.

Little form on the Flat (0-7) mainly over a sprint trips, fared no better sent hurdling at Stratford for his debut (pulled-up). Hard to make much of case for his chance on his second hurdling outing.

5/2
Has some fair form on the Flat and over timber in France but still to win a race (two runner up slots over hurdles). Ran well below that level on his GB debut (behind What Will Be/Andaleep); capable of better, may produce more here.

10/1
Hinted at having some ability on the Flat at up to 1m1f (failed to improve on handicap debut). Newcomer over hurdles; dam half-sister to high-class hurdler Katchit; yard no stranger to winners in this sphere; note a market move.

33/1
Newcomer to timber with his form on the Flat in varied events very modest indeed. Half-brother to Fair Attitude (2m-2m3f hurdle/chase winner in France); best watched on first start over hurdles.

Well held in two starts on the Flat as a 2yo when with Roger Charlton (showed very little) and sold cheaply to her current yard. 40-1 on her hurdling debut at Aintree (finished last) beaten 98.5L; returns from a wind op.

Tongue-tie goes on for second run to join the hood worn for what was a considerate debut when finishing midfield on debut (not given a hard time at all). Interesting Irish raider and likely to improve for the first-time experience; player.

8/1
Modest maiden on the Flat (better for a step up in trip in that sphere last time) having shown some ability over hurdles twice. More needed to be considered for win purposes but could well be involved for the places.

Forecasts

What Will Be (6/4), Lucou (5/2), Andaleep (9/2), Grey Girly (7/1), Lady Shanawell (8/1), Philyaboots (10/1), Wontgetfooledagen (33/1), Eucalyptus (50/1), Justice Shallow (150/1)

14:40 Cartmel - 26 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Not an event that has a tremendous amount of strength in depth and while Don McCain won this last year with a short-priced favourite this time around he runs a newcomer in Philyaboots who is worth a second glance. What Will Be sets the standard but was beaten under a penalty last time and it may well be that impost that undoes him again here. Andaleep and Lady Shanawell are two other to consider but the verdict goes to Irish challenger GREY GIRLY who can build on her considerate introduction. Lucou has plenty of experience but having been well held on his GB debut it’s far too soon to write off him off.
  1. Grey Girly
