Off the mark at fourth attempt for this yard when landing a valuable 6f handicap here in June. Good fourth in Shergar Cup Dash over 5f last time, and likely to go well with top apprentice booked.

Much improved for current stable, beating Moss Gill in a 6f handicap at Newmarket's July meeting. Has improved in defeat since, shapes as if he'll be just as good over this trip, and merits maximum respect.

Improved to make winning reappearance at Windsor in May. Just as good when second at Newmarket the following month but last 3 runs have been poor. Must bounce back.

Three-time juvenile winner. Better for reappearance when runner-up at Windsor (5f) in June but not at his best at Ascot since. Others arrive with more pressing claims.

Failed to win as a juvenile but looked more the finished article this year when winning his opening two contests over 6f. Has struggled to last home off higher marks since, and now drops back in trip with a point to prove.

Dual winner last year, and best effort this season when making all for a wide-margin win over 5½f here last time. Not so easy to dominate better rivals, especially having gone up 10lb in the weights.

Curragh maiden winner last summer over 5f, and back to wiiningh ways at Fairyhouse (6f) last month. Kept on into mid-field in a Listed race last time, and claims on that, but the drop to a sharp 5f looks against her on recent evidence.

Both wins this year over 5f, including over C&D, and she's remained in form, finishing well when third at Ascot last time. No reason to think she won't give another good account having been dropped 1lb for that.

Has won twice at Nottingham and at Windsor this season, all over 5f, and while her latest run over 6f was a disappointment, it would come as no surprise to see her bounce back.

Looked a progressive sprinter with wins at Salisbury and Windsor this summer, and got back on the up when scoring at Bath on Wednesday. Had been dropped for previous effort, so only 5lb higher under a penalty, but a bit more needed, nonetheless.

Sole defeat this season when 2L third to Wedding date over C&D in May. Now 3lb better off having scored at Pontefract (6f) since, and has a decent chance if ready to go after an 11-week break.

Progressive sort who has improved with every start this year, and arguably unlucky not to beat Pass The Vino at Newmarket in July. well treated off 4lb higher, and has leading claims here based on that run.

Soft ground a valid excuse for disappointing on handicap bow, and has gone on to be placed in competitive heats on both starts since, beaten 1½L when third to Celsius at Goodwood last time. Should continue in form with conditions to suit.

Won at Doncaster (5½f) in June when visored for the first time, and improved further when an unlucky fourth behind Pass The Vino at Newmarket. Form has levelled off since, but she's still on a fair mark, and not one to dismiss lightly.

Proving hard to win with, and while he ran well when ¾L second of 7 to reopposing Count D'orsay at Ripon last time, he makes limited appeal in this stronger contest.

Put a series of dismal efforts behind her when running out a clear-cut winner at Catterick last month, but has followed that with a couple of tame efforts, and unlikely that cheekpieces will be enough to see her home in front now.

In danger of becoming disappointing, and losing run mounting up. Well beaten when fancied behind Celcius at Goodwood last time and needs a first-time visor to jolt him back to form if he's to end that unfortunate sequence.

Scored on his final start for Charles O'Brien at Naas in June, and started off for new yard by beating James Watt at Ripon last time. Fair bit more required here, but is at least going the right way.

17:20 York - 24 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Pass The Vino makes plenty of appeal with his form strong and the drop to 5f not a problem, but if he has solid claims, then it's hard to ignore MOSS GILL, who was narrowly denied by him at Newmarket last month, but is now meeting Paul D'Arcy's charge on 9lb better terms. Lufricia has run well on both handicap starts at this trip granted fast ground, and should also go well.
  1. Moss Gill
  2. Pass The Vino
  3. Lufricia
