Finally gained long elusive first win at Bath (1m5f) penultimately and won with a but in hand. Ran very poorly when a remote eighth over C&D latest (ran well here previously) however so now looks a risky proposition.

Winning hurdler is 0-17 on the Flat but had been running well over 2m and 1m6f this term before finding 1m4f too sharp at Brighton latest. Return to this trip should see him more competitive but may be vulnerable to younger rivals.

Convincing 1m4f winner here on soft ground and back to winning ways over same trip off 7lb higher mark at Newmarket latest on good to firm. Up another 6lb but looks ideal sort for this longer trip and highly respected.

Still a maiden (13 races) but ran one of his best races when upped to 1m3½f at Windsor latest. Not bred to stay that far so pedigree limitations can be ignored already and he shaped like a real stayer there so is of interest here.

Consistent and busy three-year-old gained second 1m6f success when winning by 4½L at Bath penultimately. Handled 5lb rise when only beaten 1¾L over C&D latest and even with another 1lb here he should make a bold bid.

Refused to race here penultimately and almost did the same next at Newbury and when he finally did race his chance was already gone. How he will fare with the flag start is anyone's guess but is too risky to chance.

Age: 9|  Weight: 9-4| J: Elisha Whittington(7)| T: S Lycett| OR:  62

Faller over hurdles at Worcester latest is a long-standing maiden who had made little impact on the AW over variety of trips earlier this season and is easily opposed here.

Age: 6|  Weight: 8-9| J: Jane Elliott(3)| T: M D I Usher| OR:  45

One win in 27 starts and refused to race at Lingfield latest, the second time he's done so. Even when he does jump off he is usually very hesitant about doing so and with fellow refuser Camakasi in the line-up he is even more likely to refuse.

Forecasts

Cambric (5/6), Victoriano (7/2), Cogital (7/1), Sufi (8/1), Fields Of Fortune (9/1), Bostonian (25/1), Threediamondrings (33/1), Camakasi (40/1)

19:50 Salisbury - 23 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This looks an excellent chance for CAMBRIC to gain her third win this season with Roger Charlton handicapper's going beyond 1m4f always highly respected. Victoriano probably has the most compelling form over the trip so rates the biggest danger although Cogital like the selection has scope to improve further for the longer trip.
  1. Cambric
  2. Victoriano
  3. Cogital
