Relished the test that 1m2f on heavy ground provided at Nottingham on his last start and carries a 5lb penalty for winning that in fairly easy style. That was an improvement on recent efforts under today's rider; should be effective again.
Regular in these sort of events but not under today's pilot although his win this year came under a fully-fledged rider. Hasn't really been in the same form since that victory (well below form last time); steps up significantly in trip.
Course winner earlier in the year over 2f shorter when following up a Hamilton win over the same trip under a penalty. Form since then has been a little hit-and-miss with the miss variety cropping up last time; not one of the leading lights.
Visor now employed for the first-time in the hope that it will see him return to some sort of form; struggling to show anything positive of late. Back down to his last winning mark with trip/ground both fine; hard to be confident on recent form.
Glimpses of promise/ability when first seen for this yard last year (previously with Roger Varian) but remains a maiden (0-9). Has looked reluctant on occasions; may well have needed the run last time but overall, he looks a far from viable type.
Yet to really spark for this yard having been tried with and without headgear recently but failed to see her race out last time over 1m2f on heavy ground. Dropped another 2lb but likely to need further help/better surface; best watched.
Useful hurdler (3-20) who has also on occasions shown what he can do on the Flat including last-time over C&D (wore his winning jumps headgear combination). All that headgear is now removed; on a fair mark, could well make an impression.
His 100-1 SP told you all you needed to know about his chance at the weights in a Catterick claimer (finished well beaten in first-time tongue-tie). Now reverts to handicaps but makes very little appeal given his recent form.
Clocked up 22 Flat efforts now without winning although there have been some occasions when he's looked capable of breaking that drought. Better judged on his penultimate run (came from a hopeless position last time); trip looks too short.
Modest at best in handicaps he remains one who it is best to ignore with his recent efforts holding very little or no promise. Cheekpieces worn last three Flat starts are retained; runs from 1lb out of the weights.
In fine form over hurdles of late winning twice from the front and now returns to the Flat off what looks to be an advantageous mark. Previous Flat form is poor though (1-16); front-runner who can't be left out of calculations.
Past Flat form is modest at best but two recent hurdles wins off marks of 113/118 mean he is potentially thrown in here (despite being just out of the weights). Stable debut (cost £40,000), connections may get a very quick return on investment.

Given his two recent hurdles wins which saw LUCKY ICON bounce back to form for the Thomas Mullins yard it’s no surprise to see new connections revert to the Flat off what looks a very lenient mark given those exploits in the other code. There’s no guarantee that he’ll be in the same form however and the same could be said about the other well weighted hurdler in the field Frightened Rabbit who was no great shakes on the Flat before his winning hurdling exploits. Gravity Wave proved himself in a similar scenario last time and should go well again under the same rider while Iolani isn’t out of this having shaped nicely over C&D last time despite the removal of his headgear.
