Well found in the market on both his starts he showed more of his potential/ability on his most recent start over 6f at Pontefract. Given his entries (has one in a Group 2) he's still thought to be smart; yard have a good 2yo record at this venue.

Good second on debut to a race that looks sound form (winner/fourth won next time) over C&D he failed to build on that over 7f at Ayr last time. Beaten 5L last time, the trip looked to stretch him; should be happier back at 6f, not written off yet.

By Mayson this newcomer should appreciate some cut in the ground; one of two newcomers from the same yard (12-87 with 2yo newcomers this year). Market best tool for deciding which is the better of the duo.

On his first three runs he looked to be knocking at the door (runner-up twice); progress appeared to halt last time (wore first-time eyeshields) at Redcar, also looked quirky. Overall form reads well but doubts are starting to creep in; vulnerable.

Newcomer from a stable in good form (very capable of producing 2yo debutante winners); cost €45,000 as a yearling. From a family that include some smart sprinters he holds a decent entry; market support would make him of interest.

One of two newcomers from a leading Northern yard whose price rose to £25,000 as a yearling. By Garswood (top-class sprinter for this yard) he has a Redcar 2yo Trophy entry; should have ability; one to note in the market.

Newcomer, half-brother to three winners including a smart 2yo winner Waffle. Yard not known for juvenile winners especially debutantes (0-4 this year). Likely to be better for the run in what looks a decent race; best observed on debut.

Yard yet to have a 2yo newcomer win (unless they strike in the first division). By Mayson, cost 22,000 guineas as a yearling; half brother to three winners, including Gregorian Chant (2yo 7f winner); likely to be sharper for the run.

Gelded prior to his last start he produced his worst performance so far having shown better if modest form in three previous outings. Would have something to find on form here; will be of more interest when switched to nurseries.

Cheap purchase given quite a taking pedigree (half-brother to numerous winners); yard not noted in this sphere though (0-11 this year). Looks one more for the longer term although he did improve from first to second run; limited appeal.

Yard not really noted for their 2yo's but this Gutaifan filly appears to be heading in the right direction having shown improved form on her second run (stepped up to 7f). This may prove an ideal trip (made debut over 5f); further progress likely.

14:35 Carlisle - 21 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The experience and entries that AINSDALE has make him the leading candidate in this especially as his yard (Karl Burke) have a very decent record with the 2yo’s at the track; 18-58 (31%) since 2014, it may just be a case of third time lucky. Alix James has some reasonable form to his name although a 5L defeat last time was a little disappointing given how much promise he had shown in a good race on debut. Of the others to have run Angels Faces and Cruising have both shown promise with the first-named making plenty of appeal. The newcomers have a better chance in the first division but the two Fahey debutants – Amaysmount and Hartswood are worth a glance along with Dilithium.
