Showed good attitude to score here in June. 1lb lower now and has won on testing ground, so should be fine with these conditions. Each-way player.

Loves some cut in the ground and showed up well when second on his reappearance in June at Nottingham. Weighted up to the hilt, so needs to pull out more.

Third in the Great St Wilfrid last year, and now 10lb lower. Best form this season entitles him to plenty of respect, despite the impression that he is not as good as he was. Handles conditions and should be very competitive from good draw.

Loves it here, having won three times over C&D, and although he has not been particularly consistent this term, his best efforts, plus the fact that he is back here, suggest that he can't be written off.

Has won four of his nine starts, and remains unexposed. His Redcar win last time looks strong in context, and there could be more to come. Middle draw not ideal, but well worth consideration nonetheless.

Scored twice at two and reappeared with a really good effort at Newmarket in April, from this mark. A shade disappointing since then, and not sure that slowe ground is ideal for him.

Got back into some form earlier in the season with a seller win and then success on his first two starts for this trainer. Handicapper now looks to be in control again.

Came in for support when scoring at Doncaster (6f, good to firm) in May, and only 1lb higher here. Not the most consistent, hence his record since then in some good handicaps, so needs to get back to his best.

Mudlark who scored at the third time of asking for this trainer at Windsor (5f) in June. Below par at Newmarket last time (good to firm), but return to slower ground positive and he enters calculations.

2lb higher here than when scoring at Nottingham in June. Ran well here over C&D to be third recently. Probably stable's second string here, but wouldn't be a huge shock to see him in the money.

Scored over C&D last September, when 4lb higher. Unable to recapture that level of form so far this term, and is better on a sound or fast surface.

In and out performer who goes well on softer ground, and has won twice this season. Well held over C&D last time (behind Dalton) however, so others preferred.

Soft ground lover who scored at Catterick last season, when just 2lb lower (6f, good to soft). Entitled to need his reappearance two weeks ago, and if he can make the most of his rail draw, he has claims.

Scored twice in the spring and has run well in defeat since then, after the handicapper had his say. Latest Goodwood effort in a big field sprint was another example. Drops 2lb, and not written off.

Won Ayr's Bronze Cup on bottomless ground last year, when 5lb higher. Looked to be coming back to some form again at Hamilton last time, and the forecast for further rain would be right up his street. Good draw, and interesting.

A competitive event. Growl is well drawn and has proved himself in this sort of contest. He should again go close. Tawny Port looks a player, along with Hyperfocus, Airglow, Dalton and Mark's Choice. Lucky Lucky Man is another who could emerge as a major threat, but preference is for ROYAL PROSPECT, who is unexposed and very interesting.
