Never competitive on sole start (7f, standard, at Kempton) as a two-year-old and plenty to prove on turf debut; bred to be effective at the trip but big step forward required on belated seasonal bow.

Slow to start and had very little impact on debut at Lingfield (5f, good) last Saturday; bred to appreciate a bit further and might already need a stronger test of stamina. This run will edge him towards a handicap mark if nothing else.

Most experienced of the bunch and ran well over this sort of of trip at Windsor last week; was favourite that day but no match for a much improved winner. Had previously finished in front at Mofaaji (also at Windsor) on debut, so highly respected.

Sent off as an evens favourite on debut but possibly ran too keenly to do himself justice; not much to find with Grisons from that run and should be a lot wiser this time. Been gelded since and his yard is in better form; worth considering.

Well beaten in both starts so far and failed to capture the imagination of the betting public on either occasion (starting prices of 66/1 and 100/1 respectively). Hard to recommend this time too.

Forecasts

Mofaaji (4/6), Grisons (13/8), A Place To Dream (12/1), Excelinthejungle (16/1), Disey's Edge (33/1)

A chance is taken that MOFAAJI will have taken plenty from his debut at Windsor and, having been gelded since that run, he can turn the tables on Grisons if he posts a more focused effort this time. The last named is still open to improvement and will appreciate this slightly longer trip than he raced over last time out. He has to be respected in this company and should make a bold bid to uphold his Windsor form with the selection (finished 1L ahead of Mofaaji on that occasion day but did cause minor interference by hanging left near the finish). A Place To Dream hasn't been seen since last December but won't need to have improved much to finish as the best of the rest.
  1. Mofaaji
  2. Grisons
  3. A Place To Dream
