Useful handicapper at best, C&D winner back in 2016 and although coming back off a break today, has won fresh in the past. Tends to be highly tried and will appreciate the drop back to handicap company.

Falling quickly in the handicap but that's down to a series of moderate efforts, although it wasn't a disaster at Thirsk last time despite finishing last of the five. Not written off just yet.

Highly tried in Meydan earlier in the season but it's hard work for him at present and is falling quickly down the handicap at present. Well treated if he can bounce back, but hard to find reasons why that might happen here.

Continued on an upward curve with his third win in four starts at Galway last time out (7f), coming right away for a comfortable victory. 9lb rise and drop back to 6f ask new questions tonight, but hard to discount given what great heart he is in.

Consistent sort that has just had the two outings this year, the latest of them coming at Cork back in May where he ran respectably for third. Yet to win at this trip though, and on that, others are preferred.

Won a G2 here back in 2016 but those days seem well behind him now, tumbling down the handicap after some moderate efforts and he shows no signs of stopping the rot any time soon. Others preferred.

Back to form when successful at Bellewstown last time, forcing a dead heat in the final stride, and 1lb rise for that is neither here nor there, but is more exposed than most of these and will need to pull out a bit more.

Kept on without threatening the principals at Listowel last time but at least that was a step back in the right direction. Plenty of rain would definitely help her cause and if she's ready after a break, wouldn't be totally out of this.

Popped up at Naas back in May and has ability, not a dreadful effort at Tipperary last time but equally not hard to think the handicapper has him where he wants him at present.

Tailed off in three starts this season and looks well out of sorts at present. Not hard to look elsewhere for the winner.

Very useful sprinter for Tom Dascombe last year but four runs for this yard have been well below his best form. Well handicapped and this trip will suit better than the mile he tried last time, but clearly risky at present.

Back to some of his best form when successful here over 5f last time, showing that soft ground holds no terrors in the process, so any rain not an issue. Just as effective over 6f and although a 6lb rise demands more, can do better again.

Only had the four starts, so open to improvement, and turned in a good effort on her handicap debut at Naas last time out, beaten just a length into second. Has already got a novice win to her name as well, and looks a potential improver here.

Falling quickly in the handicap after a series of pretty moderate efforts and he shows no signs of stopping the rot just yet. Easy to look elsewhere.

20:20 Curragh - 16 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This looks winnable, despite the numbers, and top weight DOWNFORCE can make his class count. The more rain that falls for him the better, and he'll appreciate this drop in class too. A record of a win and two places from seven starts here reads well. Master Matt brings some good form to the table and won't mind conditions, and Make A Challenge is similarly good heart. They can both play a part. Aurura Eclipse and Zodiacus are potential improvers.
