6/1
Eight-race maiden who has emerged with credit since returning to a shorter trip (1m-1m1f); no extra inside the final furlong when beaten just under 2L by Spirit of Sarawan at Hamilton (1m½f, good) in July; 1lb lower.

Seven-race maiden; finished one place in front of today's rival Move In Faster when second to Hector's Here at Hamilton (1m1f, good to firm) in June; it's a complete unknown as to how he'll handle these conditions; top jockey booked.

Back to winning ways when slipping the field to record a third success at his beloved Pontefract (1m, good) last week; well handicapped on soft/heavy ground form in 2017; major player under a 5lb penalty despite a moderate draw.

Twice placed over similar trips in handicap company in June, and despite being fairly low-mileage overall (0-7) has fallen a couple of pounds in the weights since; didn't get home when a beaten favourite at Pontefract (1m) six days ago.

Back to form since rejoining Keith Dalgleish; 5lb higher than when beating Donnelly's Rainbow by a neck (Muraadef third) over 7f here (good to soft) in June; twice narrowly beaten since; stays this trip and should be on the premises.

20/1
Catterick specialist; dropping down the handicap after struggling for form in 2019, although it should be noted that he wasn't all that far behind Cliff Bay (fifth) over 7f here in June; is tackling a new trip on very testing ground; stamina?

25/1
15-race maiden who is arguably less exposed than that bare statistic implies; 0-5 at 7f and beyond; 25-1 when beaten by 1½L at Hamilton (1m½f, good) in early July.

Sole win came on debut at Ayr (6f, good) in June 2017; back to form with a narrow defeat at Hamilton (1m+, good) on his penultimate start but produced another laboured effort on good to soft ground at Ripon last week.

15-race maiden who has blown cold far more often than hot; one of his better efforts came at this track in June (7f, good to soft) when a close third to today's rival Cliff Bay.

Without a win since June 2017; has made just the three starts for his current handler and could be potentially working back to form from a lowly mark; 20-1 when third to a subsequent winner (French Flyer second) at Hamilton latest; draw?

Nine-race maiden who is yet to post a noteworthy effort; steps back up in trip from 6f but rates as nigh impossible to make any sort of reasoned argument for; look elsewhere with confidence.

Prosecute38
Age: 6|  Weight: 8-13| J: A Elliott| T: S Regan| OR:  45
28/1
No win since his days with David Simcock (June 2016), bringing the record to 1-23 at Nottingham last month; will probably be suited by dropping back in trip but it's very unlikely he'll be competitive nevertheless.

Jagerbondp16
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-6| J: Andrew Breslin(5)| T: A Crook| OR:  45
14/1
14-race maiden; has tackled various trips (didn't stay 1m3f-1m4f) since finishing a never nearer 2L third to Champagne Terri over 1m1f here (soft) in May; should almost certainly handle these conditions.

Nine-race maiden; big odds and well beaten on her last couple of visits to Carlisle (1m-1m1f); all hopes are pinned upon recent wind surgery proving beneficial.

Well beaten on all four starts, including on return to action/handicap debut at Leicester (1m, heavy) 13 days ago; truthfully already looks to be a hopeless case; has no chance whatsoever on form shown to date.

19:15 Carlisle - 13 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Dawn Breaking slipped the field at his beloved Pontefract last week, and under a 5lb penalty in a weaker race could prove to be a handicap 'good thing' on the basis of his soft/heavy ground form in 2017. However, he's unlikely to represent any value so we'll look elsewhere for greater each-way rewards. Both Mr Cool Cash and Zalmi Angel are noteworthy candidates, arguably more so the latter with this heavy ground expected to be in her favour, while the consistent course winner Cliff Bay should also be there or thereabouts for Keith Dalgleish. However, for very small stakes a real chance is taken on JAGERBOND breaking the duck at the 15th attempt.
