Gelding by Alkaadhem out of a Persian Heights mare. Half-brother to 1m6f and 2m winner on the Flat and 2m-3m1f hurdle and chase victor, Don't Stop Me Now. Tailed off on maiden hurdle debut in May and easily passed over in this contest.

Improving sort. Second of 11 beaten 2L for this trainer/jockey combination on return to action following a 346 day break at Ballinrobe last month. Likely to make a bold bid.
3
Horse silk
50/1
Gelded son of Dubai Destination who has shown precious little to speak of in three bumpers so far. Needs to show more sparkle before any faith is placed in him.
Gelding by Pentire Celebre out of a Alzao mare. Dam, 1¼m-1½m winner who stayed 2m. Best watched on debut with tongue strap fitted.
5
Horse silk
20/1
Arakan gelding nothing of note in a couple of dour efforts to date including only getting as far as the first on hurdling debut at Cork last month. Remains easy to oppose in first time hood.
6
Horse silk
66/1
Gelding by US bred sire. Pulled up on sole start to date in a Kilbeggan maiden hurdle when last seen in June. Unlikely to be troubling the judge on bumper introduction.
7
Horse silk
33/1
Filly by Court Cave out of a Hushtag mare. Low-cost purchase for connections of €2,500 as a three-year-old. No impression in tow bumper starts to date when last seen in December. Others deserve more consideration.
Daughter of Westerner out of an Accordion mare. Dam bumper/2m4f hurdle winner. Best watched on debut and appears to be a long term prospect.
Daughter of Mountain High out of a Presenting mare. Dam unraced half-sister to to point-to-point/2m5f hurdle winner Saddlenomore. Likely to be popular in the betting for leading trainer/jockey combination.

Plenty to like about her improved effort at Limerick last month finishing second of 16 over 2m on final start for trainer Paul Power. Likely to be of interest in first-time hood and on stable debut.

Horse silk
66/1
Well related Scorpion filly out of useful dam. First couple of efforts have left plenty to be desired and has not shown enough overall to be of interest here.

20:35 Kilbeggan - 10 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The experienced, Bushranger gelding, RIAN THOMAS can get off the mark at the fourth attempt for connections and the second time of asking for trainer and jockey combination of Gordon Elliott and Jamie Codd in the closing race of the evening. The gelding can hold off the attentions of the Willie Mullins-trained Mountainmore on debut who will likely be the biggest danger. The Henry De Bromhead-trained As High Say and Sue Ellen on debut for trainer Tony Martin who has secured the services of jockey Derek O'Connor are deserving of further consideration as post-time approaches.
  1. Rian Thomas
  2. Mountainmore
  3. Sue Ellen
