First-run gelded son of Motivator out of a Monsun mare. Won on final Flat start in Germany last September for trainer J-P Carvalho. Likely to be a warm order in this company.
Haateef gelding out of a One Cool Cat mare. Dam, twice raced over hurdles, sprint winner who stayed 1m1f on the Flat. Failed to complete in two point-to-point starts last year. Easy to dismiss.
Tikkanen gelding. Full-brother to 2m6f-3m2f chase winner and a half-brother to a 2m6f-3m jump winner. Tailed off on debut maiden hurdle run at Kilbeggan last month.
Hints of improvement on third and most recent hurdle start at Limerick over 2m4f last month finishing fifth of 10 beaten 9L on good ground. More needed again.
Three-race maiden well held on hurdling debut at Cork last month and first time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here.
Improved performance on his ninth start over hurdles finishing second of five at Ballinrobe last month beaten 2¾L in a career best effort. Needs to maintain momentum here.
Forecasts
Guiri (10/11), Jack Hackett (3/1), Summer Hill (9/2), Pat Coyne (8/1), Lough Sewdy (20/1), Stormy Master (20/1), Liars Corner (33/1), Cats Pajamas (50/1), De Grey Mink (66/1)
Given the inexperience or inconsistency of a number of runners here its hard to get away from the chances of the Jessica Harrington-trained GUIRI on debut. The J P McManus-owned gelding can hold off any potential challenge coming from bumper distance winner, Jack Hackett and the J P Ryan-trained Summer Hill.
