A Kyllachy colt out of a Green Desert mare, he made little impression when seventh of 11 on debut at Ripon earlier this month. However, he'll be sharper for the experience and is well drawn here; no surprise to see a more accomplished performance.

Already has C&D experience and helped to set a good tempo (from a low draw) when he was second here a fortnight ago. Drawn more towards the stands side, the Dandy Man colt could be hard to peg back this time. Well worth considering.

Getting better with each run but no match for a toughened campaigner of Mark Johnston's (who dropped back from a Listed race to a novice stakes) last time out. This may prove to be a bit easier and he's dangerous to ignore.

A half-brother to two winners - with successes from 6f up to 1m2f - and his dam also won a maiden over 7f during her time. Well drawn but looks more of a long term prospect.

Cost £35,000 as a two-year-old, the colt makes some appeal on pedigree as he's out of a sister to decent handicapper Caledonia Princess and can be placed to good effect when his connections have a handle on where to go with him. One to watch here.

Last two starts were encouraging and this filly, who is a half-sister to six winners (including Group 3 winner Mac Love) and sets the BHA standard for now, still has plenty of scope. Raced with the pace last time and thereabouts if doing so again.

Never a factor over 6f on debut at this course in June and well beaten in her only start since. Her yard is in great form but this particular filly has a lot to prove and will most probably do better when she contests handicaps at a later stage.

A son of Showcasing who cost 30,000 gns; he's the first foal of an unraced half-sister to decent middle distance performers Sparkling Picture and Start Right; runs for a high profile yard but does look more of a long term prospect.

This is likely to be run at a good clip if BALTIC STATE and Balancing Act run to expectations. The first named was well backed when he was just denied by a late surging rival over C&D last time but he's much better drawn this time and can make amends if all goes to plan. Balancing Act can push the selection all the way and would be dangerous to rule out; as would Kilham, who met a toughened campaigner last time and may well find some of this lot don't measure up at this stage. Strong support in the betting for the likes of Araifjan and Dana Forever would also be interesting to note.
  1. Baltic State
  2. Balancing Act
  3. Kilham
