Failed to win since his 2yo debut despite running to a consistent level in handicaps of late (looks vulnerable to anything progressive). Attempted to make all over C&D last time; needs more mercy from the handicapper to be of interest.

Already on his third trainer having run disappointingly when last seen (only run for Eve Johnson Houghton) over 7f as a 2yo (started favourite; ran too free). Now makes his stable/3yo debut back to the minimum trip; has the propensity to do better.

C&D winner as a juvenile (second start) on his final run for Chris Dwyer before running some modest races in handicaps for Any Murphy (tried over 6f once). Failed to build on his previous outing last time (debut run for yard); questions to answer.

Despite remaining a maiden he has shown some ability in handicaps especially over C&D (last two starts). Ran his best race last time (first-time visor; retained) with his mark looking workable, a return to 6f may be needed to see him at his best.

Forecasts

Mr Buttons (11/10), Invincible Larne (15/8), Phoenix Star (9/2), Scale Force (6/1), Disruptor (10/1)

19:15 Yarmouth - 7 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Very hard to be decisive as to which of this quintet holds the best chance with all of them having some questions to answer. In the end the pick is INVINCIBLE LARNE who has run well here on his last two starts over this trip although he really looks as though he could do with 6f now. It’s hoped that he can show enough dash to win over the minimum trip. Mr Buttons isn’t obviously well handicapped and enters the arena on the back of a modest fourth over C&D and it may well be that Disruptor is the main danger starting out for a new yard having shown promise at times last year. Neither Scale Force nor Phoenix Star can be totally written off but do have something to prove.
  1. Invincible Larne
  2. Disruptor
  3. Scale Force
