Progressive filly. Off the mark at the third attempt when stepped up to 7f in Lingfield novice auction (good to firm) in July. Has to give weight all round but respected for trainer in red-hot form.

Thrice-raced maiden. Hasn't build on promising debut and regressed further when 11L sixth in 7f Ascot novice auction on latest start. Trainer turns to handicapping in a bid to find improvement.

Kept busy this season. Excellent second in York seller on penultimate start but failed to fire 7L fifth on handicap debut at Haydock (6f, good to firm). Steps up to 7f now but looks more exposed than others.

Starting to improve on each start and ran on well for third at Chepstow (7f, good) on latest start. Gelded since and opening mark is likeable. Enters calculations.

Still a maiden after three starts and progression seemed to stall when seventh of 15 at Windsor (7f, good to soft) on turf debut. Can't be fully written off after a short break and switch to handicap company.

Best performance of her career to date came over 6f at this track when 1L fifth in novice auction contest. Makes handicap debut and one to consider for this stiffer test.

Improving sort. Gelding operation seemed to irk out some improvement when 3L second in similar contest at Leicester last month. 3lb rise means he is still on a workable mark and shortlisted to go well again.

Winner at Lingfield on her penultimate start but ran an incredibly poor race when 22L seventh of eight in Leicester nursery in which Danny Ocean was third. Others readily preferred.

Put two disappointing performances behind her with encouraging second in 6f Doncaster novice contest in June. Shaped as if 7f should pose no issue and given a workable mark for handicap debut. Considered.

16:55 Newbury - 6 August 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This contest could throw up a battle between two horses in the same ownership, but the improving DANNY OCEAN is preferred to open his account this season. His second in what looks to be a strong race for this level is a stand out piece of form and has been well treated by the handicapper on the back of that effort. Space Ace must be respected on the back of her Lingfield victory but may be caught out giving 4lb away to her nearest rival, while London Calling should appreciate the stiff test if he manages to settle with the hood on for the first time.
  1. Danny Ocean
  2. Space Ace
