Progressed slightly from promising debut effort when fourth of eight in 7f Epsom maiden last month. This could be a good opportunity to get off the mark.

Slow start cost him any chances on debut at Salisbury (7f, firm) in July when the ground was rattling fast. Likely to appreciate the ground today and can be forgiven for that run. Notable jockey booking.

€50,000 yearling purchase by Footstepsinthesand. First progeny out a mare who failed to win on the track but is related to smart 1m5f winner Roses For The Lady. Blinkered on debut.

€24,000 yearling out of a mare who has produced 9f winner Sunday Sister and closely related to 11f winner Myla Rose. Connections in fine form but may need this run.

Inexperience told on debut when 10L ninth over 6f at this track in July. Looks to be bred for speed so the step up to 7f could be a concern. But can't be ignored in a weaker contest with top jockey on board.

Failed to land a blow in two starts to date and regressed when 15L 11th in 7f Wolverhampton maiden. Looks up against it even this type of contest.
Footstepsinthesand colt who is a half-brother to 5f winner Kinks. This trip could be his optimum and notable if there is market support.
Never a factor in two starts to date, most recently when 8L fifth in 7f Ffos las novice contest. Makes little appeal.

23,000 gns purchase who is a half-sister to multiple winners including Fourpenny Lane and Graphic Guest. Attractive enough pedigree for this type of contest makes her a leading contender.

Forecasts

Chairlift Chat (11/4), Perfect Outing (7/2), Optio (9/2), Serious Jockin (9/2), D Day (11/2), Luigi Vampa (16/1), Lost Empire (20/1), Son Of Prancealot (25/1), Party Potential (66/1)

Unsurprisingly this division of the novice stakes is weaker and preference is for PERFECT OUTING, who receives weight all round from the opposition and is closely related to a Listed-placed performer, which is the standout pedigree line. Chairlift Chat may have plateaued on the basis of his latest start but this contest gives him a strong opportunity to land a victory, while D Day first run can be forgotten about and should be taken note of for a strong trainer/jockey combination.
  1. Perfect Outing
  2. Chairlift Chat
  3. D Day
