20/1
Left a strong impression from his last two Hexham 2m novice runs that he could well be better than his finishing positions. Probably requires stronger handling (same rider today); now with a first-time tongue-tie, one to note in the market/handicaps.

Glan Y Gors9
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-2| J: Henry Brooke| T: D Thompson| OR:  118
11/2
Useful Flat sort (especially on AW); fair maiden hurdler when trained in Ireland at up 2m4f (not seen over hurdles since last summer). Makes his debut over hurdles for this yard although his recent Flat starts have been below-par.

33/1
Both hurdles outings so far have promised very little despite the fact that he's related to some smart hurdlers on the dam's side of the pedigree. Given a fair break since he was last seen; needs this run for a mark, not one to enter calculations.

25/1
Fair sort on the Flat (won three times in 2018 at up to 1m4f); well held on his hurdling debut (last start for Ian Williams) at Bangor. Now starts life with a new yard worth noting in the market; has more to prove than other ex-Flat types.

Rukwa29

4/1
Fell on his sole point-to-point start but has shown signs of promise over hurdles in recent months (SP's getting progressively shorter). Needs to settle better than he did last time; chance but likely to be seen to better effect in handicaps.

The Stewardv8
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-2| J: Charlotte Jones(7)| T: James Moffatt| OR:  110| D
5/2
Fair sort on the Flat but has never quite managed to get the job done over hurdles despite numerous chances (especially around here). Well below his best at Perth last time (trip looked too sharp); likely to be found wanting again (visor returns).

Dagianp26
Age: 4|  Weight: 11-0| J: B S Hughes| T: James Moffatt| OR:  115
4/1
Similar to his stablemate (The Steward) he's finding it hard work to get the job done over hurdles (runner-up three of his four starts). Well held after an absence back on the Flat last time (off the bridle early); has something to prove.
AW Flat winner over 1m4f when with Tom Dascombe who so far doesn't appear to have enjoyed the hurdling experience. Both outings have lacked any real promise (showed slightly more last time); would need to improve markedly to get involved.

Horse silk
50/1
Rare runner over obstacles for a predominantly Flat yard (1-14 over jumps last five years). Modest Flat maiden who showed nothing on his jumping debut at Perth (made plenty of mistakes); not much more expected here.

Best Not Argue31
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-9| J: C J Orr(5)| T: N C Kelly| OR:  109
7/2
Useful handicapper on the Flat whose form over hurdles is quite modest from a yard that should always be respected here. Last two hurdling efforts have been well below-par especially last time at Down Royal; needs to bounce back here.

Lope De Looph,t13
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-7| J: Colm McCormack(3)| T: A Sadik
250/1
Fared no better for a breathing operation over 6f on the AW last time having been pulled-up over hurdles on both outings. Hard to conjure up much of a solid argument for his chance.

The Steward (5/2), Mistiroc (11/4), Best Not Argue (7/2), Rukwa (4/1), Dagian (4/1), Glan Y Gors (11/2), Cryogenics (20/1), My Fantasea (25/1), Silver Character (28/1), Moyaszov (33/1), Sunhill Lad (50/1), Lope De Loop (250/1)

14:15 Cartmel - 22 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A few that have some useful form on the Flat oppose each other in this and despite the fact that MISTIROC has found it hard to win in recent years but his recent form is good enough to win this and a few of his opponents have had their own struggles to win. That category could well include the James Moffatt duo Dagian and The Steward both of whom have had enough chances to open their winning accounts over hurdles particularly the latter. Glan Y Gors wouldn’t have been far behind the suggestion on the Flat and enter the equation if he can put his recent Flat exploits behind him. Cryogenics and Rukwa will both be of interest in handicap company.
