Finished fourth over C&D last month from reduced hurdles mark, having been sent off an 8-1 chance. Should give running again and could harbour place claims.

Made the frame (third) here in May over 2m5½f, though not quite as good either start since (back here last time). Dropping down the ratings, he meets this much longer trip for the first time this afternoon.

Mare justified favouritism to win over just shy of 3m at Uttoxeter in May, her second success over timber. Found a 9lb hike too much in decent Aintree race next time, she now gets some relief and could bounce back.

Hasn't won since May 2016 but knocked hard on the door at times last year. Yet to spark in three 2019 runs but returns from a short break and could strike from this sort of mark before long.

Mare remains a maiden after five hurdles starts, but she's made the frame twice recently including when 15L second behind facile winner over C&D last month. Runs from an unchanged mark and no reason she won't get in the mix once more.

Dual winner here, including over this trip last year, mark is workable and stayed on from out the back over C&D last month to finish third. Tongue-tie goes on, needs some considering on last month's showing.

Veteran, won a hunter chase 14 months ago at Fontwell but hasn't shown much in either run over hurdles since returning from 377-day break. Mark is declining, should he be able to take advantage.

Nine-race maiden under rules (multiple point-to-point winner), has returned to David Pipe's care and filed runner-up finishes over C&D (chase) and at Worcester (hurdles, 2m4f, good) recently. Raised 4lb but should lay down another challenge.

Fair hurdler for all that record is just 2-32 over timber, with latest success at Plumpton in November (3m1f, good; 7-2f). Not fired in two spins this term over hurdles/fences, though may have had excuse latest.

Appears a better chaser than a hurdler, with 4-10 record over larger obstacles after last-time-out Fontwell win (3m1f, good to soft; 5-1). Rated only 1lb higher now, but has something to prove back over timber.

Completed a course double last summer over much shorter trip but subsequently lost her way. Tailed off both runs this term and nothing on formbook to suggest this sort of trip will bring a turnaround.

Went four years between drinks prior to winning start for this stable at Plumpton in May, doubled tally in convincing style at Huntingdon in conditionals event shortly after (made all). Now rated 10lb higher in stronger race, but on the shortlist.

17:35 Newton Abbot - 21 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Alanjou recorded a quick double in May after joining this trainer and plenty in hand from the front at Huntingdon on the second of those. Upped in the ratings and facing a sterner test, the hat-trick may elude him. Western Sunrise made steady progress from a poor position over C&D last time and can go well while Prophets Prayer and Midnight Aurora appear to have solid enough credentials. David Pipe appears to be getting close with SKINFLINT however having twice finished second recently, including here over fences. Back up in distance, with Bryan Carver's claim, he can open his account.
