Was in good form in the spring, winning one (10f) at Bath and just touched off at Windsor, but two backward steps since then rather suggest he's gone off the boil. Cheekpieces given a try now, but looks a bit risky at present.
Go to go back to 2017 to find the last time he visited the winners enclosure, but it wasn't a bad effort returned to turf at Yarmouth last time and this trip might be the key. Yard going better now, too. Chances.
Doesn't win very often but tends to run his race more often than not, and two recent efforts at this trip suggest he stays fine. Can be slowly away, which won't help, but if getting a solid pace to aim at, could take a hand.
Useful type in this sort of grade, probably better known for hurdling exploits but has form on the Flat and this trip should be fine. However, hasn't been seen out for over a year now, so likely to need the run.
Winner at Chelmsford (10f) in April but has thrown in a couple of very moderate efforts returned to turf since then, and hard to know what to expect here. Others readily preferred.
Has been in cracking form since returning from a long absence this year, winning two and second on his other two starts. Handicapper starts to pile pressure on but is progressive, which can't be said for many of these, and must have a big chance.
Just the one win in 16 starts, not badly handicapped at present and there's the odd decent effort (including over hurdles) that makes you think there's another race in him, but folded tamely at Newmarket last time, which is a worry.
Has hit the frame in a few lowly events this spring and clearly this trip/ground suit him well. Possible he didn't handle Epsom last time, so if forgiving that, has place chances once again.
Forecasts
Seaborn (11/8), High Acclaim (9/2), Paddy The Chef (11/2), Simbirsk (7/1), Brittanic (9/1), Il Sicario (10/1), Bayston Hill (16/1), Saxo Jack (25/1)
SEABORN is asked for more by the handicapper but looks the most solid option despite that, and can score again. Brittanic is no win machine but ran well on his latest outing and looks the danger. Il Sicario might be best of the rest.
