Won 5f Ffos Las nursery on easy ground last year and ran best race so far this campaign when runner-up at Newbury off this mark last time out. First-time blinkers added in the hope of sharpening her up and may not be far away for in-form yard.

Only success came at Southwell over 5f last term and jury still out on his ability to see out a truly run race at this trip. Beaten out of sight last two starts and handicapper slow to release his grip.

Going the right way and won at the fourth time of asking on handicap bow over C&D in April. Two solid efforts since, inlcuding neck second at Kempton latest off 2lb lower mark. First-time cheekpieces added and should be thereabouts.

Landed C&D handicap in February off 16lb lower mark and failed by only a head on return visit in May. Won 7f handicap at Salisbury penultimate start and again ran well when third at Newbury last time. No easy task but is tough and in form.

Revelled in heavy ground when winning Nottingham 6f handicap off 4lb lower mark last month and has run well off revised marks last two starts, including on AW at Kempton latest. Eased 1lb and yard going well.

Fair efforts first two career starts over 7f before appearing to struggle at a mile. Underwent wind surgery in January and weakened 2f out on first start back in Beverley nursery last month. Should strip fitter but needs to improve to score.

Won C&D handicap in May off 1lb lower mark but less effective since in two starts at minimum trip. More exposed than many of her rivals but will probably give supporters a run for thier money.

Ended string of modest efforts with fair second over 7f at Haydock recently but did run out of steam close home. Return to this trip makes sense and is handicapped to be there or thereabouts.

Forecasts

Across The Sea (5/2), Golden Parade (3/1), Stallone (7/2), Di Matteo (11/2), Eye Of The Water (12/1), Moveonup (12/1), Requited (16/1), Klopp (16/1), Great Shout (25/1)

20:25 Wolverhampton - 17 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Plenty here with claims but the first-time blinkers may be the key to ACROSS THE SEA who returned to something approaching her best with a good second at Newbury last time. Stallone is a danger off his current mark, as too so Di Matteo, who may well be assisted by the addition of the cheekpieces. Golden Parade and Eye Of The Water are others to consider in a race where it is hard to rule any of the nine out.
  1. Across The Sea
  2. Di Matteo
  3. Stallone
