A seven-time career winner; has shown precious little since finishing 2L second to Shady McCoy in a Class 4 7f handicap at York (good) in October 2017; drops in grade into a 0-70.

Competitive throughout the duration of the current turf season with a couple of willing successes at Thirsk (7f-1m); 4lb above his last winning mark; solid second to Inner Circle latest (form which could be franked in Division 1).

15/2
7lb lower than when winning over 7f at Ayr (good to soft) in late 2018; shouldn't be troubling Thornaby Nash assuming that their recent clash at Thirsk (7f, good to firm) represents an accurate guide.

13/2
Hasn't won on the Westwood since June 2015 (C&D) but has posted a multitude of excellent efforts at this track since; lurks on a very dangerous mark if able to rediscover a spark; certainly shouldn't be dismissed lightly.

Forecasts

Ollivander (5/2), Kodiline (6/1), Parion (6/1), Relight My Fire (13/2), Thornaby Nash (7/1), Explain (15/2), Global Exceed (8/1), Make On Madam (10/1), Echo Of Lightning (14/1), Mutafarrid (20/1)

15:45 Beverley - 16 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

At least a couple of those declared are mildly interesting from a handicapping perspective, namely the course specialists Make On Madam and more significantly Relight My Fire. However, the most prudent approach is to stick with the in-form horses which brings the dual Thirsk scorer Thornaby Nash firmly into play. He could well see his latest effort franked in Division 1 of this contest by Dandy Highwayman and Atletico. Nevertheless, we'll elect to opt for the three-year-old OLLIVANDER who remains on a winnable mark. He simply didn't get home over an extended mile here earlier in the month.
  1. Ollivander
  2. Thornaby Nash
  3. Relight My Fire
