Juan Elcano36
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: Andrea Atzeni| T: K A Ryan| D
6/1
Frankel colt who overcame a sluggish start and greenness on debut to land Haydock novice (7f, heavy) in early June. Form of that race looks strong and entitled to be more streetwise for this contest. Potentially a smart horse.

King's Command22
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: James Doyle| T: C Appleby| C
9/4
Overcame trouble in running and inexperience to land typically strong 6f novice race at this track last month. Likely to be a juvenile of good quality for a yard who took this race last year with Quorto. Leading contender.

Maxi Boy25
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: L Dettori| T: M L W Bell
7/1
Winner at Yarmouth on debut but wasn't disgraced when eighth in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot when last seen. Wasn't beaten far that day and gave the impression he is ready for step up in trip. Strong jockey booking and worth a betting check.

Mystery Power21

7/1
250,000 gns yearling who made a taking debut when winning 7f Haydock maiden in June. Runner-up has since franked the form and yard normally aim their most precocious juveniles at this race. Commands respect.

Ropey Guest25
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: S W Kelly| T: G G Margarson| OR:  100
25/1
Three-race maiden who took his form to a new level when 200/1 sixth in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot (this week's July Stakes winner was a place behind him), but it'll be a surprise if he replicates that form and others make more appeal.

Shared Belief29
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: D Tudhope| T: A Watson| D
16/1
Overcame significant trouble in running to land 7f Sandown maiden in the style of a good horse on debut. Form of that race looks modest but worth a betting check and could be a good prospect for yard who excel with juveniles.

Wild Thunder51
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-1| J: S M Levey| T: R Hannon
9/1
Friendless in the market on debut but turned over hot odds-on favourite in good fashion in 6f Goodwood maiden. The second has come out and won since and isn't necessarily the stable's second-string. Dangerous to ignore.

5/2
Seventh in the Chesham Stakes on penultimate start and took advantage of drop in class to easily land Naas maiden last time. Slight improvement required but you can never discount a juvenile from this yard.

Forecasts

King's Command (9/4), Year Of The Tiger (5/2), Juan Elcano (6/1), Mystery Power (7/1), Maxi Boy (7/1), Wild Thunder (9/1), Shared Belief (16/1), Ropey Guest (25/1)

14:55 Newmarket - 13 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

An above standard renewal of the Superlative Stakes with all seven runners bringing good form lines into the contest. Year Of The Tiger improved significantly at haas last time out and may now be ready for this type of contest (trainer landed this in 2017 in Gustav Klimt) while Maxi Boy finished well in a typically strong looking renewal of the Coventry Stakes. King's Command follows in the footsteps of last year's winner Quorto and is likely to be thereabouts, but preference at a price is for MYSTERY POWER, whose impressive victory at Haydock was one to note and his connections have excelled in this race before and already have a winner at this year's July festival.
  1. Mystery Power
  2. King's Command
  3. Year Of The Tiger
