Mr Strutter7
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-0| J: A Elliott| T: Ronald Thompson| OR:  63| C
9/1
Dual Catterick winner (5f-6f); 6lb lower than when beaten by a neck and a short head here last October (by the re-opposing Sfumato); nearest at the finish fifth of 18 at Thirsk (6f) last week; stamina for 7f?

Aliento37
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-0| J: T Eaves| T: M Dods| OR:  63| D
4/1
Formerly with Ollie Pears; made a winning debut for Michael Dods at Thirsk (7f, good to firm) last month when beating Supaulette by ¾L; is now rated 5lb higher.

Uncle Charlie17
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-12| J: P Mulrennan| T: Mrs A Duffield| OR:  61| D
9/2
Boasts a reasonable strike-rate (4-22), winning back-to-back races at Carlisle (6f-7f) last summer; is feasibly weighted and finished just over 2L fourth of 11 to Tricky Dicky at Pontefract (6f, good) 17-days ago.

Sfumato7
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-11| J: S P Davis(3)| T: Adrian Nicholls| OR:  60| C
10/1
3lb lower than when scoring over 6f here last October (Mr Strutter third); in reasonable form so far in 2019, probably running his best race over this trip at Thirsk in April when finishing fourth of 16 to Thornaby Nash.

Super Florenceh23
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-11| J: Jamie Gormley| T: I Jardine| OR:  60| C
20/1
Her sole win in 25 starts came when offered an easy lead over 6f here last July (fillies' handicap); plunging down the weights but is difficult to build a solid case for on 2019 form.

Fingal's Cavep23
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-7| J: P Hanagan| T: P A Kirby| OR:  56| CD
10/1
Dual C&D winner; out of sorts since the depths of winter (reasonably consistently for a month or so on the AW); others readily preferred despite the eye-catching booking of Paul Hanagan.

Fardp7
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-7| J: B A Curtis| T: R Fell & S Murray| OR:  56
7/1
14-race maiden; did the vast majority of his early racing over 6f but has stepped up in trip more latterly; 1lb lower than when finishing a close fourth of 11 to Glaceon in a 1m Redcar maiden handicap (penultimate).

Chickenfortea23
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-7| J: Rachel Richardson| T: E J Alston| OR:  56| CD
6/1
Pacy dual course winner (6f-7f) who really ought to profit from a much reduced mark eventually; probably over-raced early on good to soft ground at Carlisle (6f) latest, one of the more interesting outsiders.

Wensley2
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6| J: Phil Dennis| T: Rebecca Bastiman| OR:  55
40/1
Poor in four starts in 2019 and would ideally prefer softer ground; is easing in the weights but it would come as a major surprise if he's overly competitive.

Horse silk
Intense Pleasureh17
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-3| J: J P Sullivan| T: Mrs R Carr| OR:  52
25/1
Ten-race maiden; in absolute free-fall in the weights since April (has fallen 24lb); his positive 3yo form for Hugo Palmer seems an absolute light year away now; capable yet very risky.

Call Him Al5
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-1| J: P Mathers| T: R A Fahey| OR:  58| D
16/1
Has seemingly regressed since kicking-off the turf season with a fair fourth-placed finish at Musselburgh (7f); rates as difficult to fancy after another poor showing at Haydock (7f) last week.

Tom's Anna23
Age: 9|  Weight: 8-12| J: M Stainton| T: S Regan| OR:  47| CD
28/1
Without a 'win' since being awarded a C&D maiden in May 2013 (then with Tim Easterby); has acquitted herself well (second) on her last couple of starts, although both of those efforts came with ample give underfoot.

Lady Lavinia6
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-10| J: Cam Hardie| T: M & D Easterby| OR:  53| D
20/1
Her sole win (1-14) came in a 7f Redcar seller (good to firm) last summer; beaten just under 3L by Archies Lad in a Leicester claimer three starts ago; this race is less competitive than at Haydock (Cl 5) last week; on a career low mark.

Moonlight Escapade246
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-9| J: Jason Hart| T: J & S Quinn| OR:  52

Hasn't shown a great deal of ability to date (0-4) and is difficult to fancy despite the current excellent form of the John Quinn representatives.

17:30 Catterick - 10 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A number of horses in this divided Class 6 7f handicap represent shortlist material with likes of Sfumato and Mr Strutter feasibly handicapped and the recent Thirsk winner Aliento evidently on the up for Piercebridge trainer Michael Dods. Ann Duffield boasts a solid chance in Division 1 of this contest with Bibbidibobbidiboo and her representative in this division (Uncle Charlie) has a more convincing profile than the vast majority. However, in the interests of sport we'll take aim at the very well handicapped course specialist CHICKENFORTEA. Well drawn in stall four, he'll undoubtedly seek to make all under the very capable Rachel Richardson.
  1. Chickenfortea
  2. Uncle Charlie
  3. Aliento
