Got his head in front for the first time for this yard on his return at Sligo but has seemingly found his subsequent handicap mark beyond him. Dropped 1lb but may still need more relief from the assessor.

Failed to finish in two point-to-points but only narrowly denied on Rules debut over hurdles at Thurles. Possibly caught out by the drop in trip or ground on her next two starts and may bounce back here.

Has really found some improved from since returning in May, finishing fourth of 13 at Ballinrobe before another step forward when finishing third of 16 at Tipperary. Same mark here and a fascinating contender in first-time blinkers.

Still a maiden after eight starts but has shown some promise in her last couple of runs, sent off favourite at Tramore last time. Shaped like a step up in trip could suit that day and not one to rule out here.

Well beaten in all four starts over hurdles, though put in a slightly better effort when ninth of 17 at Listowel last time out. Needs another step up in trip to yield improvement.

A maiden after 20 runs (10 in point-to-points) and showed very little on return to hurdles last time. Very tough to make a case for.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-1| J: D N Russell| T: P Croke| OR:  83
2/1
Point-to-point winner who has been running well in defeat over hurdles of late, placed on her last couple of starts. Likely has a race such as this in her before long and seems to appreciate decent ground.

50/1
Point-to-point winner but yet to show anything in four starts over hurdles. Never a factor when 11th of 17 at Gowran last time out and needs first-time tongue-tie to spark a revival on handicap debut.

Very much in the veteran stage of his career now but still has ability, as seen when winning a race at Hexham last season. His best recent form has come over fences in recent times and ran well in that discipline last time but lurks on a nice mark.

Age: 9|  Weight: 10-12| J: D P Holden(7)| T: M Winters| OR:  80

Has shown bits of ability in point-to-points but that's not the case so far under Rules and she returns to this sphere with plenty to answer at present.

Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: Ricky Doyle(5)| T: John G Carr| OR:  80
10/1
Yet to win in 18 starts and while he returned with a promising effort at Kilbeggan, he failed to build on that next time out at the same venue. Needs first-time blinkers to have the desired effect if he's going to be in the picture.

Well beaten in maiden hurdles but has shown promise in a couple of his handicap runs so far this season. Less exposed than most and not one to rule out here.

Age: 4|  Weight: 10-9| J: Katie O'Farrell(5)| T: M C Grassick| OR:  85

Showed little on her first couple of starts over timber before a 126L defeat in a Fairyhouse 2m4f maiden when last seen in April. Hasn't shown enough to be of interest.

Forecasts

Humps And Bumps (2/1), Watching Brief (10/3), Josephina (7/1), See Double You (8/1), Fr Gilligansvoyge (10/1), First One D'Ana (11/1), Pump Road (14/1), Baltygirl (16/1), Kate O C B (20/1), Clorinka (33/1), Divine Lucy (33/1), Bronco Bill (33/1), Mary Fields (50/1)

20:30 Roscommon - 9 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

JOSEPHINA didn't go unbacked last time out and she looked as if she may relish the step up in trip that day. See Double You certainly isn't getting any younger but he may be able to build on his run last time and lurks on a dangerous mark. Watching Brief has to be the main danger in first-time headgear after two very promising recent runs.
  1. Josephina
  2. See Double You
  3. Watching Brief
