Both starts over 6f. Improved upon underwhelming debut effort when third at Ayr (6f; good). Another chunk of progress is required if he is to make his mark in this contest, but that isn't impossible and he has a squeak.

Holds the strongest form available after pushing an odds-on shot very close at Redcar (6f; good) last time. This is a slightly easier assignment and provided he copes with the drop down to 5f, he should take plenty of beating.

Probably the pick of the two newcomers in this contest. By Dandy Man. Cost E35,000 as a two-year-old. Dam won over this trip. Tough task to put it up to the main candidates but interesting to see how much ability he possesses on debut.

Debut run was not devoid of promise but took a backwards step since when never a factor at Chester (6f; soft). Possibly had excuses due to the ground and now drops to 5f, so is not one to completely dismiss despite the fact he has a bit to prove.

Sepoy colt who cost £10,000 as a yearling. Yard don't really have first time out winners. It would be a surprise if he was to prove capable enough of winning this on debut. Look elsewhere.

Forecasts

Felicia Blue (2/1), Cruising (5/2), Aberama Gold (3/1), Ma Boy Harris (5/1), Red Hot Streak (12/1), Zakher Alain (20/1)

18:30 Carlisle - 6 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

After disappointing on soft ground at Chester, Red Hot Streak is worth another chance back on forecast quicker ground on his first attempt at 5f. Meanwhile, Aberama Gold showed marked improvement from his debut effort when making the frame at Ayr last time and provided he can show a similar level of progress, he is not one to rule out. Felicia Blue ran very encouragingly behind a warm favourite on debut and it will be interesting to see how she fares on her second career start. The most solid option is CRUISING though, who pushed the talented War Storm all the way to the line at Redcar and if he runs to that level of form again, he will be a tough nut to crack.
  1. Cruising
  2. Felicia Blue
  3. Aberama Gold
