The second of his two starts at Newbury was a promising run but the form has already taken a knock, so the colt comes into this with a bit to prove. The smaller field and firmer ground can help. Too early to give up on him and worth checking out.

125,000 gns yearling, his dam was a placed over 5f in Listed company and is a daughter of the speedy (Group 1 winner) Red Clubs. Solid pedigree and runs for a yard very capable of having him ready to strike after his promising debut. Big player.

€150,000 yearling out of a half-sister to Group 2 winner Signora Cabello and useful sprinter, La Presse; yard is in form and he is respected. (Holds entries for the big sales race back here in September as well as the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy.)

Fourth of twelve on debut at Thirsk earlier this month and should be sharper for the run. Bred to get a bit further but was well backed on debut so might still cope if the pace is strong. Dangerous to rule out.

14:30 Doncaster - 5 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

ROYAL COMMANDO has some speedy types in his bloodlines and is worth a small investment to step up from his promising debut. Written Broadcast is bred to be effective at the trip and runs for a yard that is renowned for shrewd handling of horses of his type. He too can go on from here once he has some experience. Baadirr has ability and scope for improvement; although he needs to step things up a notch after finding only the one pace near the finish of his latest outing. Imperial Gloriana is bred to get a bit further than this but shaped nicely once the penny dropped on debut at Thirsk last month; she was well backed that day, so has to be worth a betting check.
  1. Royal Commando
  2. Written Broadcast
  3. Baadirr
