7/1
C&D winner on her handicap debut following up at Plumpton over a slightly shorter trip in the spring. Not disgraced in two starts since (ran into an improver when runner up at Uttoxeter); mark has got rather high now though, more needed to win again.

3/1
Returned from a break/wind op to take advantage of a reduced mark (7lb lower than opening mark) to score at Huntingdon (2m5f, good/soft) in May. Wisely given time since that victory to recover; certainly one to consider even upped 7lb.

All of his wins when with Olly Murphy have come in selling company including the one here over a shorter trip. Ended his time with his former yard out of sorts and continued that downward slide on his first run for this yard; far from persuasive.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-11| J: Lorcan Murtagh(3)| T: D McCain Jnr| OR:  112
12/1
Back to winning ways last time (return to form coincides with that of the yard) at Bangor (2m7f, soft) a course where he gained one of his two previous wins last summer. Up 6lb for his last win to a new career-high mark, so more needed again.

Dovils Datet8
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-9| J: Charlie Price(7)| T: Tim Vaughan| OR:  110
6/4
Finally took advantage of a sliding mark when staging a full-scale revival (strong in the market) at Uttoxeter (2m4f). Continued his resurgence with a further victory (defied an 11lb higher mark) at Southwell; escapes a penalty, hard to discount.

Horse silk
100/1
Scored back-to-back successes (June 2017) when with Tom George over hurdles/fences but rather went off the boil after that. Been raced in points of late (beaten 34L last time); now back under Rules but with plenty to prove on the face of things.

Age: 8|  Weight: 11-5| J: Adam Wedge| T: Miss E C Lavelle| OR:  106
22/1
Visor goes on this unreliable/quirky sort for the first-time having fared no better for a wind op last time when well beaten at Uttoxeter. Temperament appears to be getting worse (has refused to race); one to treat with caution.
9
Horse silk
Du Destin37
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: James Bowen| T: N J Henderson| OR:  103
12/1
There was a fair bit to like about his handicap debut late last year on the back of a wind op/long absence (slipshod hurdling probably cost him the race). Shaped as if amiss when last seen though after a further break from action; a watching brief.

Gambling Gamut55
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-2| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: K Burke| OR:  103| BF
8/1
Shown some mild promise in his last two runs although his chance was badly hindered by mistakes last time (was well found in the market). Would have minor claims on that and his previous start if he could be trusted to hurdle more fluently.

Horse silk
Linguinep34
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-13| J: Shane Quinlan(7)| T: D L Williams| OR:  100
14/1
Mark is plummeting (commensurate with his long losing run) but his last two starts have certainly hinted that a full-scale revival may well be on the cards. Caught the eye at Ffos Las and Warwick; on a mark that is begging him to take advantage.

Pahaskah44
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-12| J: James Davies| T: C J Down| OR:  99| D
25/1
Her one hurdles win came when she was with Gordon Elliott but she's proved with this yard (0-7) that consistency isn't her strong suit. Got very lit up last time (not for the first time) and needs to settle better to be of any interest.

19:45 Stratford - 2 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A race that Don McCain has a chance of winning for the second year running as his yard are in excellent form now. He fields Handy Hollow although he will have to defy a tough mark to follow up his Bangor win and it may well be that Fresh New Dawn the Huntingdon scorer after a wind op holds the greater danger to the likely market leader the unpenalised Southwell scorer DOVILS DATE who is bidding for a hat-trick and still looks well weighted on his old form. Both Du Destin and Gambling Gamut will have to jump better than of late to make their mark with the most interesting outsider being Linguine. He’s tumbled in the weights but has given notice a full-scale revival might not be far away.
