New yard have taken no time at all to get him back on the scoresheet, easy winner at Newcastle on Friday night and even with the penalty to carry for that, still looks well handicapped on old form. Big chance of the follow-up.

Three wins in his last four starts, and for one that likes to attack early, has the plot draw here in stall 1 too. Up another 8lb for last win, which makes things harder, but undoubtedly the one to catch. Ground ideal and another with a good chance.

Made all to win a little race at Redcar last year but two starts this season have seen him take two large steps backwards. Can't possibly be entertained in current form.

Rewarded for his consistency with a victory at Carlisle in May, and almost made it home in front again at Ripon last time, but the worry would be this quicker ground, with better form coming on slower. Bit more to do here but not discounted.

Yet to win in 11 starts but is knocking on the door, beaten a length at Redcar last time and conditions clearly no issue. However, faces competition for the lead here and may have to wait for that elusive victory until another time.

Sprang a 25-1 surprise on debut at Newmarket last year but has never really repeated that form and in truth, looks very much on the downgrade already. Need to see more before getting involved with her, well handicapped as she is.

Winner over 5f from 2lb higher last October, so well enough handicapped, and has dropped the odd hint his turn may not be far away again. Not sure this track suits though, and on that, others preferred.

Well beaten all four starts at big prices, but did show a little bit more at Beverley last time, staying on late. Needs plenty more here from a pound out of the handicap too.

Forecasts

Kapono (7/4), Timetodock (4/1), The Defiant (9/2), Tie A Yellowribbon (5/1), Shall We Begin (14/1), One One Seven (14/1), No More Regrets (14/1), Aquarius (16/1), Legal Tender (66/1)

19:30 Catterick - 1 July 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Kapono and THE DEFIANT both come here in excellent form and the fact that the front-running The Defiant has drawn stall 1 here just swings the vote his way. He might have to see Tie A Yellowribbon off early but once he's done that, is going to take some pegging back. Kapono won with plenty in hand on his latest start and won't go down without a fight. He looks the biggest danger. The consistent Timetodockcan take a prize home as well.
