Group 2 winner here as a juvenile. Impressive when winning the Lingfield Derby trial and took another step forward to land the Epsom Derby by ½L last time. That form already boosted by the third and hard to beat with the potential of more to come.

Won the Derrinstown Stud Derby trial at Leopardstown and only beaten ¾L in the Epsom Derby last time out when finishing well from off the pace. Like the winner, could still have more to give at this sort of trip and solid each-way claims again.

Well held on first three starts this season. Won a Listed event here (1m2f) last time out and all out that day, so not guaranteed to appreciate the step up in trip here; others preferred.

Showed promise as a juvenile and justified favouritism in a Leopardstown maiden last time out when stepped up in trip. That form looks a long way below what will be required in this event though. Wears first-time cheekpieces.

Group 2 winner as a juvenile. Smart effort when staying on in the Guineas at Newmarket and bettered that when a ½L second to Anthony Van Dyck in the Epsom Derby. Didn't enjoy the best trip that day so not without hope of reversing form here.

Listed winner as a juvenile. No match for a stablemate in the Chester Vase on return before finishing down the field in the Epsom Derby. Disappointing favourite at Ascot last week and has plenty to prove backing up quickly here.

Improved from his reappearance with a Listed win in a three-runner affair at Leopardstown. Runner-up from that day ran well in the Queen's Vase last week and every chance this son of Sea The Stars has more improvement in him; each-way claims.

Just a heavy ground maiden win to his name. Well beaten behind Broome in Group 3 company on first two starts this season and finished well down the field in the Epsom Derby last time. Down the order on jockey bookings and others preferred.

Forecasts

Anthony Van Dyck (5/4), Madhmoon (5/2), Broome (5/2), Norway (16/1), Rakan (18/1), Sovereign (33/1), Il Paradiso (40/1), Guaranteed (50/1)

17:20 Curragh - 29 June 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A case can be made that Madhmoon would have finished closer or possibly won the Epsom Derby with a clear passage earlier this month but with Aidan O'Brien's ability to improve his three-year-olds throughout the campaign, slight preference is for ANTHONY VAN DYCK. The son of Galileo could be hard to beat if he continues his progression and he's the pick of stable jockey Ryan Moore. Broome was involved in the finish that day and is another to consider while Rakan is one at a bigger price that may be able to outrun his odds.
  1. Anthony Van Dyck
  2. Madhmoon
  3. Broome
