Gelding operation seemed to do the trick when improving from his debut to land a moderate maiden contest at Wolverhampton (1m, standard) in February. Has the scope to progress despite having to shoulder a 6lb penalty.

Regally bred colt who is a half-brother to International Stakes heroine Arabian Queen. Promising sixth of nine in a course maiden last August and the form of that race has worked out well. First run since wind surgery and is a major player.

Expensive purchase ($1,100,000) who finished a creditable third on debut at Nottingham towards the end of last season (1m, good to firm) despite running green. Sill unexposed and is dangerous to ignore, but likely ground could be a concern.

Showed some promise on debut after a slow start to finish sixth of 10 at this course (6f, good to firm) last August. Has a lengthy absence to overcome and has been gelded in the winter, but worth a market check.

Colt by Shamardal out of a dam who has won over 1m2f and is a half-brother to Group One winner Defoe. Yard is not known for winning with newcomers and best watched on debut. Trainer's first two-year-old runner this season.

Well-bred Frankel colt whose Dam was a Listed and Group 3 winner in Italy over 1m. Has the profile to make an immediate impact on the track and makes appeal on paper.

€420,000 son of Invincible Spirit who made a notable racecourse debut when fifth of 12 on debut at Newbury (7f, good) in May. Dwelt at the start that day but likely to improve for second appearance and is on the shortlist.

Improved from Leicester debut to finish fourth of 10 in a Nottingham maiden (1m, good) earlier this month. Form of that race has been franked with the second-placed horse winning since, but needs to improve again to land a blow.

Daughter of Lope De Vega who is a half-sister to several winners but thrown into a tough contest on debut and trainer is not known for two-year-old winners. Best watched.

Didn't improve from debut when finishing third of seven at Goodwood (1m, soft) earlier this month. Never landed a telling blow that day and more likely to be the same case in this race.

100/1
Has shown very little in two racecourse appearances this season, most recently when a well-beaten seventh of eight at Nottingham (1m, good to soft) in April. This is a much tougher contest and makes little appeal.

Forecasts

Majaalis (6/4), Cadre Du Noir (11/4), Wings Of Time (4/1), Arabian King (9/1), Going Places (10/1), Tuk Power (12/1), San Sebastian (20/1), Society Guest (25/1), Colonel Slade (28/1), Ghanim (50/1), Starlight (100/1), Eventura (100/1)

15:20 Newmarket - 22 June 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A strong renewal of this race with plenty of unexposed three-year-olds who could shape up to be smart prospects this season. Going Places has the pedigree to improve on whatever he runs like in this contest and an eye must be kept on how he moves in the market, while Majaalis is likely to have improved from his pleasing Newbury run. However, the well-bred ARABIAN KING should prove to be hard to beat after his promising run in a strong maiden last season and the wind operation should irk out the necessary improvement.
  1. Arabian King
  2. Majaalis
  3. Going Places
