Beat The Breeze14
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: J F Egan| T: S Dow
20/1
£11,000 yearling; half-brother to 3 winners, including winner up to 6f Classic Flyer and 7f winner Tember; dam unraced. Better than he could show on his AW debut over 6f at Chelmsford; could well improve but best watched in this company.

Just the one run so far which showed little ability (soon detached; tailed off). 66-1 on that occasion and not much more expected here for a yard that are 0-9 with juveniles in the last five seasons.

Cherokee Mist
Age: 2|  Weight: 9-5| J: B Doyle| T: C Appleby

Yard do well with their juveniles 13-30 already this year (10-19 with newcomers. Cost $500,000 as a yearling; looks the part on pedigree, half-brother to a couple of Canadian AW winners; given the trainer's record with juveniles a leading candidate.

Yard 1-25 with juveniles over the past five years (never had a winning two-year-old newcomer); hard to think he's going to improve that record. Dam; 1m winner, half-sister to useful 1m-1¼m winner Briardale; best watched unless the market speaks.

Looks to set the standard of those with a start against their name having shown progress from debut to second run. Should be able to progress again although this will be his first start on the AW; experience gives him an edge.

Showed very little on his first start at Salisbury (beat one home) before failing to show anything more on his next start switched to the AW (finished last). Would need to pull of a shock to even get involved at the finish.

Well behind Indian Creak when that one was runner-up at Windsor on debut making little appeal on pedigree and showing limited ability. May well have been need of the experience but makes little appeal switched to the AW.

Cost £56,000 at a recent Breeze-up sale with a pedigree that appealed; showed ability on debut despite looking in need of the experience in a decent Newmarket novice (6f). Race run in a good time (looks strong form); could well improve markedly.

One of two interesting newcomers although the yard's juveniles are only 4-40 on their debut this year. €240,000 yearling; first foal out of a Listed placed dam with other winning relations on the distaff side; one to keep onside.

Forecasts

Will To Win (10/11), Cherokee Mist (9/4), Indian Creak (4/1), Top Class Angel (5/1), Beat The Breeze (20/1), Harlequin (25/1), Power Of Love (33/1), Mungo's Quest (50/1), Broughtons Compass (100/1)

20:30 Lingfield - 20 June 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

The pedigree (plenty of winning relations on the AW) of Cherokee Mist certainly catches the eye as does the record of Charlie Appleby with his juveniles this year especially those on debut and it will be no surprise if he adds to that record. He may just find the experience of Indian Creak and WILL TO WIN just a little too much though with the former looking solid but it’s the latter who appeals more. The Newmarket novice that he comes out of looks as though it could provide plenty of winners and his trainer Simon Crisford has a 20% strike-rate with his juveniles second time out. Top Class Angel must also be considered but the Hannon juveniles tend to have needed their first run this year.
  1. Will To Win
  2. Cherokee Mist
  3. Indian Creak
