Came good at the fourth attempt at Lingfield (1m3f, good to firm) latest, when a very easy winner of a modest maiden. Mark looks fair for handicap debut, and no surprise to see him kick on.
Improving son of Cape Cross who has yet to win, but came close to doing so at Newbury last time, when finishing ahead of a couple of this field. Up 5lb for that, but should be more to come.
Has run well in both handicap starts on AW. Up just 1lb for the latest of those. Makes turf debut here and with soft ground German winners in his pedigree, he could go well, with plenty of rain forecast.
0-5 so far, and his 10L defeat at Doncaster on his handicap debut in April did not suggest that he would be breaking his maiden here.

Alhaazm (13/8), Prejudice (2/1), Mind The Crack (5/2), Paradise Boy (11/4), Gantier (5/1), Cormier (11/2)
An interesting opener. Alhaazm looks to have claims, along with Prejudice, while Gantler and Mind The Crack represent top teams and could easily prove good enough. However, with rain around and a pedigree that suggests softer conditions could suit, we'll take a chance on turf debutant PARADISE BOY, who has been running well on AW surfaces.
