Exciting newcomer who was bought for £135,000 as a two-year-old. By Society Rock. Could be good enough to win this if straightforward enough on debut. Watch for market clues.
Outstrip-colt who mustered 20,000gns as a two-year-old. Highly likely to get better as he matures as most of the yards horses do. Trainer is 0-33 with two-year-olds.
Decent effort on debut at Leicester (6f; good) when finishing in midfield. Drops down to 5f today which should suit as she was smartly away on debut and showed good early speed. Should be bang there at the finish.
One of two representatives for Mick Easterby. Made just £8,000 as a yearling. Yard not renowned for having winning newcomers and they are out of form in general at the moment. Others preferred.
Dutch Art-colt who made a pleasing enough debut at Carlisle (5f; good to firm) 16 days ago. Form of that contest is open to question but the one to beat in this granted natural improvement.
Has made no impression in two 5f maidens at Redcar & York. This is less competitive than both of those assignments, but she still has a lot to do on the basis of what she has shown so far.
Kodiac-filly who cost £75,000 as a yearling. Top yard do well with newcomers, so is one to note in what is a very open race.

The one who stands out the most in this field is SPARTAN FIGHTER who ran a race full of promise on debut at Carlisle when not beaten far behind the promising Rayong. Daniel Tudhope gave his mount a couple of smacks late on that day, which this Dutch Art colt responded very positively to and he should be able to claim this less competitive contest with ease. If the selection doesn't run up to expectations, there are a couple of newcomers who could be good enough to win this, namely Precocity and A'Ali . They both come from yards who are always respected in these races and it will be intriguing to see how they fare first time up for powerful connections.
