A C&D winner who was second over the extended 2m3f trip back in March. Fell at the second last fence when well-beaten at Chepstow. Back up in trip here. One to watch.
Was a winner as this course back in May 2018 over 2m3f. Since then he has struggled for form at trips ranging from 2m4f up to 3m3f. Back up in distance here but others preferred.
A C&D winner who has prevailed off a 1lb higher mark than he is at here. Ran well when third at Wetherby on opening start of the season, however, needs to bounce back from disappointing effort at Uttoxeter last time where he was pulled-up.
Was a beaten 7/4 favourite when second of four runners at Kempton last time over the shorter trip of 2m4f. Jumped left on his last appearance so a right-handed track will help his chances. Major player.
Front-runner who is sure to lead the way again here. Was back over fences on his last appearance at Market Rasen (3m) where he stayed on well to finish second. Each-way claims on the basis of his last run.
Off the same mark as his last start where he was second at Kelso over the long trip of 3m4f. Enjoys softer ground so the drying conditions are likely to be against his chances of success.
A C&D winner who has put in two solid appearances so far this season, including a second place finish at Southwell (3m) where he was beaten by a neck. Needs to bounce back from his last run when he was pulled up at Fakenham (3m5f).
Had two wins last year over a much shorter trip than this. His two outings this spring have been poor though so probably one to avoid, although he is stepping up in trip again.
Forecasts
Ronava (9/4), Shoal Bay (3/1), Bestwork (5/1), Alto Esqua (7/1), Fingerontheswitch (8/1), Sporting Boy (10/1), Little Windmill (14/1), Lord Ballim (25/1), Thomas Blossom (50/1)
SHOAL BAY will enjoy going left-handed once again and this looks a great opportunity for him to get back to winning ways over fences. Ronava looks to be a danger if he can transfer his form across to rules, while Sporting Bay will set the pace and could still be fighting it out at the finish.
