Age: 5|  Weight: 11-9| J: Mr P W Mullins| T: W P Mullins| D
4/6
Doyen mare, dam a half-sister to the useful Balnaslow. Built on promising debut when dotting up last month at Kilbeggan (2m, yielding; 5-6f). Top connections and much-respected on that effort, though facing better rivals now.

Darrens Hope22
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-9| J: Mr J J Codd| T: R Murphy| D
11/2
Closely related to smart chaser Acting Lass, and this point winner ran out an impressive winner of a mares' maiden bumper at Cork last month before pleasing effort in Punchestown Grade 3. Better claims in this field.
3
Horse silk
Uisce Solash26
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-9| J: Mr D L Queally(3)| T: D Queally| D
7/1
Promising efforts in bumpers at Limerick and Wexford after missing 525 days, duly opened account at latter venue last month over 2m (yielding to soft; 3-1). Perhaps going to prove vulnerable under the penalty.
4
Horse silk
Kaletto26
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-2| J: Mr D Kiely(7)| T: M L Fagan
100/1
Point-to-point winner in November (fourth start) and has shaped well enough in pair of bumpers at Naas and Wexford so far, though may eventually be best suited over further/jumping.
5

7/1
Daughter of Yeats bought for £50,000 after winning lone point by 14L. Not sure she beat a great deal there but joined a top trainer so worth a market check here.

14/1
Showed some promise on first two runs in bumpers before been in too deep in hot race at Punchestown recently. This represents calmer waters, though plenty to find with Darrens Hope from that race despite being better off at the weights.

25/1
Oscar mare, dam an unraced half-sister to useful hurdler/chaser Lead On (stayed 3m). Runner-up bumper at Wexford (2m, good to soft; 7-1) on debut last October. Likely has to improve on that form to go one better on first run since.

Horse silk
Domitian39
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-8| J: Ms L O'Neill| T: G Elliott
10/1
Half-sister to very smart hurdler Cross Kennon and smart chaser Sumos Novios. Won only completed start in point-to-points (fell on debut) and worth a market check on rules bow for trainer in scintillating form recently.
Flemensfirth filly. Sister to useful hurdler/smart chaser Jetz and half-sister to useful hurdler Jetez. Falls into the 'interesting newcomer' bracket on debut for Jessica Harrington.

Forecasts

Botani (4/6), Darrens Hope (11/2), Uisce Solas (7/1), Lady Breffni (7/1), Domitian (10/1), Penny Out (14/1), Tritonix (16/1), Jezuki (20/1), Positive Outlook (25/1), Kaletto (100/1)

20:20 Tipperary - 23 May 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

Four of these have already tasted success under rules and the newcomers carry plenty promise on paper. Last year's winning trainer/jockey team are given an unsurprising vote, given the ease with which BOTANI went clear at Kilbeggan on her second start 27 days ago. There should be more to come, albeit this is going to prove much tougher. Darrens Hope wasn't disgraced in a Grade 3 at Punchestown recently while rules debutantes Lady Breffni and Domitian command a large chunk of respect.
  1. Botani
  2. Domitian
  3. Darrens Hope
