Cheap purchase at Doncaster sales in October (£2,000); half-brother to 2m5f hurdle winner Monthyne (by Nomadic Way): dam ran twice over hurdles. Yard 1-20 with bumper newcomers; 0-8 in this sphere last five years.

Quite well found in the market on his bumper debut but disgraced himself in the race swerving and unseating his rider (end of back straight). Given that incident he's one to take care with here, although this is a weaker contest.
Yard are 0-4 with bumper newcomers and 0-9 in this sphere in the last five years. Given those numbers this son of Arabian Gleam doesn't look an obvious choice in this even with his dam having been a hurdles winner over 2m4f.

Interesting sort (cost £150,000 guineas as a yearling) before being sold by Godolphin for £2,000 (November 2017). Half-brother to three winners on the Flat; yard have a very respectable 16% strike-rate with bumpers newcomers (7-44); note a market mov

Newcomer from a stable who maintain a near 18% strike-rate with their debutantes over the years. By Scorpion he cost £30,000 as a three-year-old; half-brother to smart hurdler/chaser Onenightinvienna (winner at around 3m): dam point winner.

Irish raider from a trainer who has plenty of success in bumpers on home soil; 2-5 in GB in the last five years. Half-sister to smart hurdler/high-class chaser (2m-2½m winner) Mister McGoldrick ; sure to attract attention in the market.

Quite an interesting closing bumper with only one of the field having run before that one being Bonsai Bay who will have to be on better behaviour than he was when unseating his rider via a swerve at Market Rasen last time. Both Major Dundee and Amelia’s Dance make plenty of appeal on the stable’s that they come from and on their pedigrees with neither stable being short of debut bumper winners. HIGH FORT is perhaps the most intriguing runner in the field though given how much he cost as a younger horse; his pedigree shows that he should have some speed and the Karen McLintock yard certainly know how to prepare a horse first-time in a bumper.
  1. High Fort
  2. Major Dundee
  3. Amelia's Dance
