First Defence gelded half-brother to Irish Listed/US Grade 3 winner Postulation. Second of nine in minor event at Bath (1m, good to firm; 4-1) on debut 20 days ago and should have a say here again.
7,500 gns yearling, Heeraat colt. Half-brother to smart 5f-6½f winner Perfect Pasture and 5f winner Perfect Peak. Watching brief on debut, unless market vibes are strong.

£18,000 yearling, Tamayuz colt. Half-brother to two-year-old 6f winner Boomerang Betty. Yard not commonly associated with first-time-out winners and entitled to come on for this.

Well beaten last year on debut around here, sole outing for trainer Tony Carroll, and similar tale when sixth of nine in minor event at Salisbury (7f, good to firm) 23 days ago. Stiff ask once more on that evidence.

Rip Van Winkle filly and first foal of a dam who was a winning miler. Sent off 100-1 in maiden over C&D last season, off since. Hard to make case for.

The pair with form in the booked are Tabassor and AEGEUS, with preference for the latter. His runner-up effort at Bath recently came on quick ground while Charlie Hills' filly was third at Haydock on testing ground. With the advantage of having handled the forecast conditions, Rab Havlin's mount is favoured. Newcomer Sleepdancer wouldn't need to be a superstar in order to have a say.
