13/2
180,000 gns half-brother to 6f winner Swiss Belle and 6f-7f winner Plumette out of a half-sister to Queen's Vase winner Sword Fighter. In excellent hands, and represents top stable's first 2-y-o runner of 2019.

£65,000 Slade Power half-brother to 3 winners, including useful 7f-1¼m winner Exhort and 2-y-o 1¼m winner Plead out of a half-sister to G3 Criterion Stakes winner Producer. Yard can ready one, but 0-32 with 2-y-o debutants here in recent years.

Lethal Force half-brother to useful 1m winner Wahash and 1m1f winner Leigh's Law out of a winning half-sister to Norwegian 2000 Guineas/Derby winner Barrier Reef. Sales price dropped as a yearling, which tempers confidence.
Full-brother to useful 2-y-o 6f/7f winner Seven Heavens and half-brother to very smart 1m winner Firmament out of dual Dahlia Stakes winner Heaven Sent. First 2-y-o runner of season for powerful yard, whose newcomers are never rushed.

Camacho half-brother to useful 2-y-o winners Mon Cadeaux and Territory. Yard tends to be precocious with juveniles, but just one win so far in 2019.
War Command colt out of a 1¼m winner. Looked to have some ability, but too inexperienced to show it when seventh of 10 at Windsor last month. Experience should help him here, but must improve markedly.

First foal of a winning half-sister to owners' dual Classic winner Lope de Vega. Did plenty wrong on Doncaster (5f) debut, but flew home when the penny dropped to be second, and type to improve markedly, with longer trip sure to suit.

By Helmet out of a lightly-raced maiden, and from a yard which has a 0-55 record with juvenile debutants in the last five years.

Full-brother to dual Nunthorpe winner Mecca's Angel and very smart 6f/7f winner Markaz. Cost 115,000 gns last year and is bred to be fast, so needs consideration for all this debut run may well be needed.

Related to plenty of winners, and seemed expected to make a bold show in the Brocklesby at Doncaster in March, but ran poorly. Posssible that simply came too soon, and not dismissed out of hand.

By Zoffany out of a winning half-sister to smart winner up to 1m Simply Perfect, herself out of useful 2-y-o 7f winner Hotelgenie Dot Com. Yard has had two debutant winners already this season, so merits respect.

Swiss Spirit filly out of a poor maiden, and fetched just 800 gns as a yearling. Didn't show a great deal on Kempton debut, and this is likely to prove too tough.

Result Amended

Jim 'n' Tomic - Original Position 2nd. Amended Position 3rd.

14:45 Newbury - 17 May 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

A couple of the top stables introduce their first juveniles of the year here, so it's a race to note for the future, but experience is often vital, and LIGHT ANGEL should step forward markedly from a promising debut over 5f at Doncaster, and will be hard to beat. Baadirr, Ziggle Pops, Sir Oliver and Heaven Forfend are a few of the likelier newcomers on paper, but as usual the market will help point punters in the right direction.
