Zoffany colt, cost €40,000 as a yearling. Half-brother to three winners, though nothing in juvenile starts at Curragh and Gowran Park to create impression he'll win this.

Son of Intello and a half-brother to high class filly Emulous among others. Appeared to be coming with strong challenge on debut at Naas (1m, good) in September only to stumble badly and forfeit all chance. Compensation may be in store.

Colt by Rip Van Winkle out of a Shamardal mare. Has looked in need of the experiences so far at Gowran and Cork in and around the mile trip. May need more time.

€52,000 yearling, Raven's Pass gelding makes some appeal on breeding and may come on for this experience. Yard 1-17 with three-year-old's so far.

Elzaam half- brother to smart 6f-1m winner Capt Chaos. Better effort at Gowran Park (7f, soft) in maiden sporting first-time tongue strap (discarded) last time. May be able to build on that effort.

Gelded son of Footstepsinthesand out of a Rock Of Gibraltar mare. Cost connections €60,000 as a yearling. Pleasing start in Limerick maiden (7f, good to soft; 25-1) recently and prospects of going well again.

Home-bred Vocalised colt out of a Galileo mare. Brother to 1m-1m6f winner Cimeara. Improved on third start to be close second in Gowran Park maiden over this trip 12 days ago and should again have a leading say.

Already gelded son of Zebedee, sent off 50-1 on debut at Gowran Park recently and made some pleasing late ground into fifth of 16. Should have more to offer now.

The Carbon Unit filly. Dam 6f winner who stayed beyond a mile. Unlikely to be the answer first time out, seemingly.

Daughter of Es Que Love, showed bits and pieces of form in maidens last year without looking any way progressive. Back from a layoff, yard in good form and needs a look.

Forecasts

Egrecio (5/4), Kalanoura (11/2), Tracker Saga (7/1), Lottieloveheart (7/1), Blue Wood (8/1), Sam Langford (12/1), Landing Zone (20/1), Aurora Moon (20/1), Yafordadoe (20/1), Gerry's Way (33/1), Candy Man (50/1), Irish Ambassador (50/1), Ally Cay (66/1), Letham Glen (66/1)

20:40 Leopardstown - 17 May 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

It's quite possible EGRECIO wouldn't be contesting a maiden but for stumbling badly on debut at Naas last year when seemingly about to lay down a huge challenge. All chance was duly lost as he finished a fair fourth in the circumstances and, with Dermot Weld's string in fine tune, this looks a suitable chance for compensation. Tracker Saga, Sam Langford and Lottieloveheart are respected opposition while Landing Zone and recent Limerick debutante Kalanoura are also worthy of some consideration.
