Cape Cross gelding; 475,000gns yearling; ran exceptionally well on debut when beaten 2L by the French Listed winner Jalmoud (third has also won since) at Newmarket (1m2f, good to firm) three-weeks ago; sets the standard; strong contender.

300,000gns foal; second foal from a 1m-1m1f French winning dam (Caserta); an interesting type in her own right, but looks to be the stable second-string behind the beautifully bred Swift Wing.

Cape Cavalli sets a rock-solid standard for the others to aim towards on the basis of his hugely promising debut second to Jalmoud at Newmarket (1m2f) last month. The worth of that form has been well advertised since and this 475,000gns yearling should be suited by stepping up in trip. However, the beautifully bred SWIFT WING is a brother to the 2016 Dante Stakes winner Wings Of Desire and represents the ever-feared Gosden/Dettori partnership. He takes in this race in preference to an option at Wetherby on Tuesday (declared as a non-runner) which was taken easily by his more experienced stablemate Gold Stick.
  1. Swift Wing
  2. Cape Cavalli
  3. Imperium
