Decent effort in finishing 5¾L fifth over an extended 2m3f at Chepstow (good-to-soft) latest and is of interest off a mark 8lb lower than for his most recent success.
Front-runner who has blown rather hot and cold since switched to chasing. Handicap continues to slide and has a pilot who is worth his 3lb and some but still struggling to be confident.
Runner-up on three consecutive occasions in handicap chases prior to falling late at Bangor last time, where he was again set to finish second. Not doing much wrong despite retaining his maiden status over fences, and one to bear in mind.
Some of his French chasing form would put him in with a chance here but he hasn't quite blossomed for this yard yet. Last of five in October and pulled up last twice so hard to fancy here back from a break.
Veteran but retains plenty of zest for racing as shown when second at Stratford last time although he was well beaten. Couldn't rule him out but also looks vulnerable off this mark.
Not really built on Southwell success last autumn although has been excuses for a couple of subsequent efforts. Would need to step up his game here but not impossible task.
Successful by 14L in a 2m4f handicap chase on good-to-soft ground at Lingfield in November. Not reproduced that form in three subsequent starts however and others hold stronger claims.
Yet to win a race with his form when last seen looking to be of a regressive rather than progressive nature. Given a tough task on his chasing debut when asked to run from 19lb out of the handicap. Better chance here but others still preferred.
Fair return from a break at Stratford two starts back but showed little at Warwick most recently when last throughout. Hard to fancy.
Game winner at Warwick this season and his three runs since have been blighted by mistakes. Conditions not ideal based on past successes and others make more appeal.

A fiendishly difficult handicap this but the still lightly raced KING CNUT has more scope than most here and having already won over fences Chris Gordon's five year old gets the nod. Danboru keeps knocking on the door and should eventually gain a win off this sort of mark. Red Devil Star is another you can't write off.
