11/1
Four-race maiden ran well to finish second of 10 betean 1¼L at Clonmel but failed to inspire when finishing 18L behind in a Limerick hurdle last month.

Winner of one of his seven hurdle starts, sole win coming in a Wexford maiden last October. Generally well held since but did run well in defeat at the same venue last month.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Rachael Blackmore| T: G J Power| OR:  102
14/1
Without a win in five point-to-point starts but was not disgraced on hurdling debut in a Naas 2m3f contest when last seen in January. Can go well but may find one or two better suited to today's conditions.

Pivotal Flame104
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: D E Mullins| T: W J Lanigan| OR:  102
33/1
Winner on the Flat for previous handlers James Tate and Pat Phelan but remains a seven race maiden over hurdles. Makes little appeal on stable debut.

Rated 75 at his best on the Flat but not yet really shown much over hurdles. Needs a good step forward to be competitive in this field it seems.

€52,000 Court Cave gelding. Closely related to bumper winner Racing Europe out of a winning pointer. Well held on all four hurdle starts to date and hard to fancy in this contest.

Crimson Chief44
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-7| J: Brian Hayes| T: J Morrison| OR:  97
12/1
Four race maiden over hurdles ran well in defeat to finishing second of 12 beaten a head in a Tramore contest in October. Well held since over timber since but worth a check in the market before dismissing.

16/1
Winner of three of his 25 hurdle starts but last victory was back in October 2015 when in the care of trainer Dermot Weld. Advancing years could be taking their toll.

Running well in defeat but the veteran is still one from 25 over hurdles and needs to bounce back in a big way to have a say here.

Distance winner. Form had been in and out in a summer jumping campaign last term. Out of sorts towards the end of the year and best watched on return.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-5| J: R P Treacy(3)| T: T Doyle| OR:  95| BF| C| D
13/2
Course winner who has also won over this trip. In grand form currently finishing second before winning a Punchestown handicap hurdle in February off an 8lb lower mark. Still in contention when brought down last time and very much a leading player.

Horse silk
Fu's Island28
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-2| J: K J Brouder(5)| T: P Meany| OR:  92| D
6/1
Won a couple over this sort of trip on good ground in 2015-16. Massive improvement on recent starts when finishing second of 17 beaten 2L at Limerick last month. More needed here but entitled to make the shortlist.
13
Horse silk
Tibetan Gold160
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: L P Dempsey| T: W J Burke| OR:  90
33/1
Stowaway gelding with little to recommend him based on four starts in maiden hurdles so far. Not seen since November and looks opposable on return to action.

Horse silk
Too Much To Ask28
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Mr R P Quinlan(3)| T: Mrs J Cashin| OR:  90
20/1
No impression on a number of dour hurdling efforts since December including finishing seventh of 16 beaten 11L, failing to quicken two out and looking one paced on the run-in at Limerick last month. Plenty to prove at present.
15
Horse silk
Daisy's Hollow28
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: C A Landers(5)| T: Michael W O'Meara| OR:  88
33/1
Beat Hollow mare, whose dam was a bumper/2m6f hurdle winner. Has not beaten many home in three dismal maiden hurdle efforts to date. Needs to bounce back in a big way to have a say.

Wolfofallstreets66
Age: 5|  Weight: 10-12| J: Ricky Doyle(3)| T: P J Rothwell| OR:  88
25/1
Still lightly-raced, midfield finish in novice hurdle at Limerick over 2m3f on soft ground on St Stephens Day. Ninth of 15 beaten 25L in a Leopardstown handicap hurdle in March. Has a bit to prove at present.
17
Horse silk
Sea Scorpion13
Age: 8|  Weight: 10-9| J: Sean Flanagan| T: Miss E Doyle| OR:  85
10/1
Best effort since return from lengthy absence when third of 17 to Criq Sun at Limerick in December. Has failed to build on that run in two starts at Punchestown and Limerick since. Easy to look elsewhere.
18
Horse silk
Divin Desir27
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-4| J: A W Short(3)| T: I Madden| OR:  80
33/1
Without success in 13 starts over hurdles and has been blowing hot and cold in four contests since December. Never been the most consistent of sorts and hard to catch on a going day.

17:40 Tipperary - 9 May 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

ASK DAVID was in the process of running a big race when brought down two at Gowran Park in March following a facile win earlier in a Punchestown handicap hurdle off a 7lb lower mark in February. The gelding can go well once again barring any accidents at the expense of Limerick eye catcher Fu's Island and the Mick Winters-trained Churchtown Glen. Third to Littlestickarubarb in March, Crimson Chief should not be easily dismissed.
  1. Ask David
  2. Fu's Island
  3. Churchtown Glen
