Made good progress before being found out in a Grade 3 at the Cheltenham Festival last month; down in grade and runs off a 1lb lower mark so feasible he can bounce back. Worth considering.
Well held in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham and also brushed aside when a well backed favourite when dropped to this grade last time out; has won over fences at this course but looks vulnerable here.
Posted good form during his time with Paul Nicholls and would be hard to beat in his prime. However, the gelding was well beaten at Sandown in March when making his return from a long absence and has plenty to prove now.
Made an immediate impact when he first joined his current yard but has been below par in three starts this year. Stiff test from 8lb above his last winning mark.
Won at Taunton in December - races from just 2lb higher here - but not fired with the same accuracy in two runs since; connections now reach for first-time visor. Has something to prove.
Unexposed with just three runs to his name and starts his handicap career on a workable mark; last two starts have been encouraging. Worth a betting check.

This presents CROOKS PEAK with a good opportunity to exploit a drop in grade and, despite carrying top weight, the gelding can get back to winning ways after finding the hustle and bustle of the Cheltenham Festival pushed the race beyond his reach last time out. This a far easier assignment and, from a 1lb lower mark, the mount of Richard Johnson looks the safest option. Capitane also found his festival entry was a touch too far and is another who will appreciate the ease in grade, while Arcade Attraction is unexposed and could easily be the best of the rest from the foot of the handicap.
