58,000 gns son of Exceed And Excel out of a Listed winner. Travelled well for a long way on debut over 7f, and built on that when second at Lingfield in January at this trip. Will improve again, and not dismissed.
Zoffany gelding who won on debut in a 6f novice at Southwell and improved on that when ¾L second of 7 to Inspired Thought in a similar event there next time. Leading claims assuming he's as effective on turf.
Half-brother to numerous winners including smart sprinter Bathwick Bear. Defied market weakness to win on debut at Newcastle in November, and could prove a fair bit better than that bare form..
Equiano filly whose dam was a two-year-old 7f winner. Sent off at big odds, but showed ability when fifth of 13 to Sandret in a 7f novice at Redcar on last month's belated debut. Entitled to do better, but drop in trip not ideal.
Half-brother to three winners, including fairly useful 2-y-o 5f/6f performer Queen Of Kalahari. Improved on debut effort when winning a 7f novice at Kempton last month, and has the speed to drop back in trip.
68,000gns yearling half-brother to 6f juvenile winner Alwasmiya. Too green to do himself full justice on debut at Wolverhampton, but sure to improve, and folly to ignore.
Dark Angel colt out of a well-bred maiden, and cost 120,000 gns as a yearling. In excellent hands, and likely to be competitive on debut if market speaks in his favour.
No Nay Never colt who was given a considerate introduction when sixth of 11 to Intuitive in a 6f novice at Kempton last month. Sure to improve, and worth bearing in mind.
Violence half-brother to a couple of US sprint winners, including recent Grade 3 scorer Mitole. An expensive purchase, he is making a belated debut given his pedigree, but needs a market check.
Dark Angel half-sister to useful but ill-fated 2-y-o winner Al Hajar. Cost 400,000 gns as a yearling, and holds a Commonwealth Cup entry, so merits maximum respect.
Forecasts
Fashion Stakes (11/10), Astro Jakk (8/1), May Sonic (8/1), Ginger Max (8/1), Heath Charnock (8/1), Somethingaboutjack (9/1), Nahaarr (14/1), Tipperary Jack (28/1), Barritus (33/1), Jet Set Go (40/1)
FASHION STAKES is unraced, but bred in the purple, and has been given an entry in the Commonwealth Cup, so looks one to take very seriously. Nahaarr is another well-bred newcomer to note, while best of those with experience is Astro Jakk, for all he's unraced on turf. There are plenty of lightly-raced sorts open to marked improvement, however, and this is another race where the market, and the video recorder, will come in useful.
