Looked a potential world-beater when winning last year's Coventry (runner-up won Group One subsequently) but injury curtailed his season and also sees him here rather than 2000 Guineas. Could very easily be champion sprinter this season.

Been highly tried since winning at Newmarket on his racecourse debut but starting to look exposed late last season. Is a smart performer in his own right but up against it versus top pair.

Won his last two starts over 6f on the AW at Kempton before somewhat disappointing sixth of eight on turf debut at Newbury two weeks back. Will need a huge step up to feature.

Dual two-year-old winner was behind Signora Cabello in French Group Two in globe-trotting juvenile campaign. Second on reappearance at Nottingham will give him a fitness edge on top two and looks the danger to them.

Improved with each run last year culminating in an excellent fourth in the Cornwallis when enduring a rough passage belying 100/1 odds. Ready winner of a weak race at Bath two weeks ago but this an altogether tougher task.

Dual Listed winner at two and was also placed in two Group Races in a busy campaign. Is up to this sort of level class-wise but this looks well above average so may find things tough.

Won four times as a two-year-old including Group Two Queen Mary here and also finished second in French Group Two. Has probably just about the strongest overall form and get the 3lb fillies allowance so has strong claims.

Forecasts

Calyx (1/3), Well Done Fox (9/1), Pocket Dynamo (12/1), Signora Cabello (12/1), Konchek (14/1), No Nonsense (33/1), The Cruising Lord (50/1)

It was disappointing that we didn't see CALYX after his brilliant C&D Coventry win at two and despite being around a 6/1 chance for the 2000 Guineas John Gosden has kept back this potential superstar knowing there will be other Group One's ahead. He has a look of Gosden's former champion sprinter Oasis Dream who carried the same colours. Signora Cabello was herself a very high-class two-year-old and has to be considered a big threat. Pocket Dynamo looks best of the rest.
