Appreciated a switch to the AW (Fibresand) at the start of the year making all to win over 7f. Two runs since haven't seen him make any progress at all back on turf last time; often looks far from straightforward, likes to lead.

Not quite progressed as well as first thought but did score after an absence stepping onto the AW (Tapeta) for the first time over 1m1f. Ran respectably on his only appearance since over 1m2f again on the AW; 2lb lower here back over 1m.

From a yard that have made a good start to the season this will be just his fourth run having won on his second outing last year (building on a good debut). Shaped as though he needed the run after an absence last year; same scenario likely here.

Multiple winner when trained in France at up to 1m on a variety of ground his two runs for this yard last year failed to totally convince. Blinkers worn again last time (wore them for last two French wins) when ridden too aggressively at Nottingham.

Not the easiest to win with but useful when on his game as he was at Wolverhampton in March over 1m1f (without headgear). Didn't manage to follow up that win (not a surprise) in better company at Doncaster (back in headgear); this is more his level.

Back-to-back wins last year over 7f in the closing months of the season indicated he was back to his best. Ran well after that in a more competitive handicap to round off his season; has won off a long break; likely to go well.

Looked a shade off the pace when starting his season in a race he had won the previous year albeit with a start under his belt that time around. Entitled to come on for his reappearance and more expected here; slipped 5lb below his last winning mark.

Course winner over 6f he's been proficient in handicaps over the past two years winning six in total although never over this far. Looked to have needed his first run back recently over this trip at Nottingham; likely to be closer to form this time.

Showed some useful form in a light campaign last year (only had four starts) winning at Doncaster (7f, good-to-firm) in May (wore first-time blinkers). Disappointed when last tried here over 6f (didn't seem suited by course); returns from an absence.

C&D winner who starts the season on a good mark having caught the eye on his initial run of the year at Naas (1m, soft). Didn't get the run of the race at all there (finished a never-nearer fifth); maybe more effective with some cut in ground.

Failed to progress from winning on his handicap debut for his former yard although his defeat came in a muddling race over 1m3f. Seasonal/stable debut now (bought for 10,000 guineas); back to 1m, one to keep an eye on in the market.

Took a while to put all the pieces together to record a good win for his previous yard over 7f at Newmarket last year looking on a good mark. Failed to follow up however; first run for new yard was needed, this will reveal more of what to expect.

Second one in the race for the yard that has been bought cheaply from the same source; now makes his seasonal/stable debut. Failed to win in three outing last year over a variety of trips but not written off just yet; may need softer ground.

Just the one run for Gary Moss (expensive buy at 70,000 guineas from Charles Hills) but now makes his debut for a new yard. Shaped well on his only run this year (not knocked around; raced close to strong pace); interesting recruit for shrewd yard.

An interesting but complex puzzle for backers with plenty having their seasonal debuts and likely to come on for the run. Crownthorpe has already had a run this year and very much caught the attention with this fifth in Ireland without getting the run of the race; he’s one for the shortlist. Donncha can’t be dismissed despite his long losing run while both Mapped and Garden Oasis are worth watching in the market given their backgrounds. BIG STORM COMING is returning from a long break (twice won off long absences) and given his form at the end of last season should go well here. Lualiwa and Kaeso are two others to note that ran well enough last time and both are expected to show more now.
  1. Big Storm Coming
  2. Crownthorpe
  3. Mapped
