Fell in his only point-to-point before steadily progressing in bumpers winning on his third attempt by 12L at Carlisle. Given an enterprising ride he showed improved form (could be flattered by winning margin) but still capable of further progress.
Trainer is dually represented here; cost €11,000 as a three-year-old. Half-brother to chase winner Only Gorgeous and hurdle winner Mentor. Holds a Grade 1 entry next week at Punchestown; respected given his connections; note a market move.

Second on his only run in Irish point-to-points (only beaten head); he's finished second in two Ayr bumpers (beaten 5L and 12L). Has done well to get as close as he has in those two runs with a stamina-laden pedigree; bright prospect over hurdles.

9/2
Has winners in his pedigree and can't be ignored hailing from a yard with a good record in bumpers (5-21 this season). Showed some promise on his debut at Carlisle (2m1f) although he'll need to settle better to be fully effective.

From a yard not really associated with this sphere (0-13 last five seasons; 1-31 with newcomers overall). Dam was a winner over hurdles and fences at up to 2m4f; best watched on debut given the stable record in this sphere.
Unless they have a winner in division one of this bumper the yard will still have not had a winner in this discipline all year. Poor record with debutants at this track and overall this €14,000 two-year-old is best watched.

Trainer also runs one in the first division of this bumper but is hardly noted for runners in this sphere (0-17 lifetime). Cost £7,400 as a three-year-old; half-brother to 5f winner Especially Red; dam was also a 5f winner; hard to build a case.
Second runner in the race for the trainer with the Champion jockey booked for this one. Cost €30,000 as a yearling; half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Court Dreaming) and bumper winner/fair hurdler Judge Earle: dam, winning Irish pointer.

80/1
Tongue-tie goes on first-time after a very poor first run where he finished tailed off (virtually pulled up). Hard to fancy with the trainer 0-25 in bumpers for the last five seasons.

Forecasts

Archie Brown (2/1), Equus Dancer (5/2), Taking Flight (9/2), Milvale (5/1), No Quarter Asked (6/1), Flutter Down (28/1), Wheelbahri (50/1), Kilfinan Bay (66/1), Tom And Tony H (80/1)

17:15 Perth - 26 April 2019 - Racecard - Horse Racing - Sporting Life

This doesn’t look quite as strong as the first division and those with experience don’t set too much of an exacting standard for the newcomers. Equus Dancer looks the best of those with experience with Taking Flight still learning and Milvale caring out for further and some obstacles. That means that this could well go to a newcomer with Stuart Crawford producing two candidates ridden by the season’s leading riders Johnson and Skelton. The market should prove informative about the chances of ARCHIE BROWN and No Quarter Asked with the former chosen due to his Grade 1 entry next week at Punchestown.
  1. Archie Brown
  2. Equus Dancer
  3. No Quarter Asked
