Won a couple of maiden/novice hurdles last summer, but not progressed since then and although she's been quite highly tried on her last couple of starts, you'd have liked to have seen a bit more from her. Needs to bounce back to best form now.

Nothing if not consistent, in the frame on her last six starts but equally has spurned a couple to decent chances to score (twice beaten at odds-on) and clearly not one for the mortgage. Chance is there to see, but comes with risks.

Has some reasonable form to her name, but you've got to go back to 2017 to find the last rime she got her head in front (on the Flat, at Beverley) and lately, her jumping has become a concern. Yard out of form too, and she's hard to fancy.

Won a match at Doncaster in December but hurdles form has not progressed since then. However, she did come good on the Flat in a Pontefract marathon (21f) last time out, and on the back of that, may yet get back on track. Not discounted.

Just the three wins in 27 starts, so no win machine for top trainer, going nowhere quickly at present either and although highly tried a few times, hard to find too many pluses.. Only positive is the yard, who do so well here. Market the best guide.

Rattled off a three-timer in the winter but a bit disappointing back from a short break at Newcastle last time. Possible she needed that (did shape well to a point) so may do better here, and isn't to be ruled out. Conditions fine.

Looked to have a future ahead of her when successful at Kelso in December but nothing but backwards steps since then and she was beaten off far too quickly for comfort at Market Rasen last time. Needs to turn things around quickly now.

Couple of her efforts this winter would offer some hope off this mark, but two pretty poor efforts lately, folding tamely at Musselburgh last time. Hard to make much of a case for her in her current frame of mind.

No win in 10 starts but has some form to her name, and worth noting she was only just touched off (at 33-1) in a novice hurdle over C&D last year. Had a short break and step back up in trip should suit. More interesting than a few.

Still a maiden after 15 starts and starting to look hard to win with, although hard to knock either of her latest two starts (possibly a bit unlucky last time) and this step up in trip could suit. Place chances at worst, with ground no problem.

One win in 18 starts, that coming on the Flat last year at Ayr. Keeps hitting the places over hurdles but by the same token, isn't really progressing and her last couple of runs have not been up to standard. Seems a bit tripless and others preferred

Forecasts

Rubenesque (7/2), Grageelagh Girl (5/1), Smiling Eliza (6/1), Queen's Magic (15/2), Stop Talking (8/1), Gemologist (8/1), Peters Cousin (8/1), River Icon (11/1), West Coast Lass (12/1), Sarvi (22/1), Kalaniti (28/1)

Were it not for the fact she's trained by Gordon Elliott and will be ridden by the champion jockey, you'd struggle to get with Smiling Eliza on what she's been doing, but such is Elliott's dominance here that she simply must be respected. Stop Talking could strip fitter for a recent outing and is worth a second look, but maybe WEST COAST LASS is the answer. She has some good C&D form to her name and might get an easy lead here. She's worth a bet at a likely good price.
  1. West Coast Lass
  2. Stop Talking
  3. Smiling Eliza
