Finished third on his two most recent starts including over 2m4f at Punchestown (good) in January. Given a break since and is one to note on his return to action.
Ran well when fourth over an extended 3m4f at Downpatrick (good-to-yielding) last time out. Blinkers tried for the first time and drop back in trip not certain to suit.
C&D winner finished a promising second over 2m1f at Leopardstown (soft) on his penultimate start. Failed to back that up in a 2m handicap hurdle at Cork (soft) subsequently however. Return to fences is in his favour.
C&D winner when taking a beginners chase on good-to-firm ground in June 2017. Had just two starts since and probably best watched on first start in well over 18 months.
Winner over C&D in the past and was successful over 2m at Gowran Park (yielding) in November. Not repeated that effort in three starts since and is vulnerable to better handicapped rivals.
Raced over hurdles since finishing third over 3m1f at Wexford (yielding) in September last year. Interesting to see how he fares on his first start since November.
Sole success came in a heavy ground 2m maiden hurdle at Thurles in February 2014 and he looks up against it having pulled up at Limerick (heavy) last month.
Forecasts
Thats Mypresenting (3/1), Lacken Bridge (7/2), Oscar Lantern (7/2), Asitsohappens (7/1), King's Song (8/1), Dark Outsider (8/1), Double Windsor (10/1)
Top weight OSCAR LANTERN has been running well in defeat in recent starts and he is taken to register a victory in this seven runner handicap chase. Dark Outsider should appreciate this return to fences having disappointed over hurdles last time out and he can take second ahead of King's Song who sports blinkers for the first time having run well when placed over further last time out.
